This place has beautiful décor and a beautiful atmosphere. I love the open kitchen where you can see the chefs prepare your food. However, when it's my first time at your establishment, I want to know what your specialties are. What you're known for, and I just need an overall, warm, and fuzzy experience. I want to feel wanted and accepted in your space. It was pretty dead in there when we went, so giving us proper attention should not have been a problem. Our bartender really acted like she did not want us there. She had no personality. She didn't give us her name. Didn't greet us. I asked her what her drink specialty was. She said she did not have one. How can you have a bartender with no personality? Whatsoever in this day and age? Is she a safe hire because of her appearance? Well, she's gonna cost you a lot of money. It just was a blah experience. I will not be back. We had 4 drinks amongst the 4 of us and our bill almost $70. The drinks were not strong. They didn't taste good. They were, in fact, watered down. This is why I asked the lady for a popular drink option because I'd know that would have made me happy. Well, since she didn't have any suggestions, I went with the best sounding cocktail, a perfect margarita, and it was trash. I have no problem paying high-end for a cocktail, but I want to feel it, and it better be good. No one wants to sit at a bar and then have an experience that makes them wish they went to a different one. We wanted to order food to try out the burgers, but no one wanted to try a $20 burger with no side, accompanied by service with a gauche attitude. I mean, you act like you don't want us there. We're gonna cash out. Get-up-and-go somewhere else, and that's exactly what we did. May I add that we all had on Chef's Coats? So it was clear that we were part of the industry. This place sucked. Now I see why it was empty on a...
Read moreI'm really confused about the poor reviews and really sad that it almost made me cross this place off the list before even visiting it. Luckily my husband and I had two independent trusted foodies reassure us that it was worth the visit. We went for Friday Happy Hour and was not disappointed. The atmosphere is amazing, I'm a little biased because as we walked up there was snow gathered on the gabled roof reminded me of Harry Potter. We sat at the bar and got settled in, comfortable seating and even the shortest of people could have a place to rest their feet. We looked over their happy hour menu and settled on Gypsy vodka drink, my husband had a bourbon drink(off happy hour menu). We ordered the Hummus and Lamb and the Flash Fried Brussels which actually complimented each other nicely. I am super duper picky about hummus, while this wasn't the smoothest I've ever had, the flavor was outstanding. The Brussels weren't just Brussel sprouts all alone, they had jalapenos and spices. When we ran out of pita for the hummus and requested more we were let know of the approximate time it would take around 10 minutes. Now that may put some people off, but it told me they were toasted them off fresh and not it wasn't just sitting under some heat light waiting for the order. Once we ordered we had a moment to relax and look around we started to notice the amazing details. As you look up from the bar you are surrounded by bookshelves loaded with books, giving you a warm fuzzy feeling. Don't worry they don't take themselves too seriously, there are portraits in the back seating area representing actors as old school military officers. This included Robin Williams, Clint Eastwood and more. I would recommend this place and if you are not sure, start with happy hour and make sure to order the...
Read moreBeau’s Grillery in Bloomfield is a must-try. The atmosphere is elegant, making it feel like you’re truly dining out in style. The service is excellent — attentive without being overbearing. They’re always around when you need them, but never hovering.
But the food is the star of the show, as it should be. My favorite is the Beau’s Burger — it’s worth every penny. The meat quality is outstanding, full of flavor, always juicy, and consistently cooked exactly how you ask for it. I always get the zip sauce with it, which really completes the burger and takes it to the next level.
The reason I’m giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is the drinks. The cocktails just aren’t where they need to be, especially when you’re paying $17 each. The flavors are unbalanced and honestly not very enjoyable. Their beer selection is also pretty limited — which would be fine if the cocktails made up for it, but they don’t. At this price point, the drinks just don’t deliver. The exception is the wine — you really can’t go wrong there.
Other than the drinks, the food truly stands out. I’d also recommend the Brussels sprouts, the loaded Caesar, the salmon — and of course, the burger. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with the menu.
If you’re on the fence about trying it — just go....
