Leaving 3 starts as not completely satisfied but room to grow. I normally hate the idea of needing to go into Ulta because I always feel discriminated against, uncomfortable and uneasy. I’m normally greeted which is great. However I am normally followed around or watched by employees as I shop around. I try to make my purchases quickly and get out. I visited the Bloomfield Hills store sometime last weekend or so and I was assisted by Miranda. She was amazing! I felt comfortable with her not discriminated against and she was soosososo knowledgeable on so many things!! She took her time to talk with me discuss my concerns and recommend MULTIPLE products to me until we found an almost perfect foundation and other recommendation products. I visited the Lake Orion - Baldwin Commons store the next day and was highly disappointed. I’d like to get Miranda’s information and shop with her again she was amazing. Thank you for outstanding customer service and being so friendly and kind to me. You truly made my previous terrible trips to Ulta a great one and I am hopeful to feel this exact way the next time I come in. Thank you for being a rockstar of the Bloomfield hills location I will be back to see you...
Read moreThis used to be my go-to Ulta store but each interaction with the staff gets progressively worse per visit. Whoever was at the makeup counter when you first walk in (short, slim white girl with dark hair) was kinda rude when I asked if a color corrector in MY NYX conceal + correct pallet I had matched with the individual color stick. I could not tell based on the lighting in the store and did not wanna use the tester. She was eager to help anyone else in the opposite direction of where I was but when I finally got her attention, I was dismissed quickly after she said the colors matched. This was a less than 10-second interaction... When I got home to try these, the colors did not match at all and I really hate returning makeup, so I might take it to another Ulta with better staff... Hopefully.
The cashier asked me if I wanted to buy the pallet I brought in from home to compare when I was at checkout. Ulta doesn't sell this concealer correct pallet (the darkest pallet, go figure) in store — or on their website for that matter —and the fact that it was used and abused kinda made it obvious that it belonged to me. However she was very nice and not rude, just not...
Read moreI will no longer be shopping here. I've been coming to this Ulta for at least 10 years and to say the service has gone downhill would be a gross understatement. Annie who works over in the salon is wonderful and very kind, so is one of the girls who does the Benefit waxing but the rest are questionable to say the least. Today was the final straw though as I walked in to see 5+ people waiting in line with no cashier, was no greeted even though I made eye contact with the two employees just standing there talking, and was completely shut down when I went up to ask for help and was ignored while the woman found another person to help. I have had a lot of issues with this woman being completely unhelpfuland rude towards me in the past but the fact that she's a manager shocks me. I don't want to outright say this is the case but I constantly feel like I'm being racially profiled there and only ever get any sort of attention if I'm with my mother (WHO IS WHITE). The blonde manager needs to be fired and never work with people ever again because she has only ever been dimissive towards me or straight up ignores me. Sad to see one of my favourite places become...
