My 92 year old grandmother and I have been going to this Leo’s regularly for years. This time, our server was rude, short, and impatient with my Nana who has dementia. She needs a little extra attention when ordering and our server had her hand on her hip, eyes rolling, mean energy towards her. Walking away before my Nana was finished speaking. Our server was 35 acting like a hormonal teenager. Mind you, she only had a single other party of one person at the table so it’s not like she didn’t have the time. It was 3:30 in the afternoon on a Tuesday.
Also, her chicken wings were too spicy for her and she couldn’t eat them. Our server said she could not take them back and remake them but we could order another order of wings on top of that. What???
We tipped well. I take my nana to the car after our meal and tell her I forgot something. I go back into the restaurant to talk to our server and ask her why she was so aggressive. To tell her that you never know what is going on with someone else and to be a little more patient especially with older adults. She stormed off. My Nana never wants to return and this has been our spot once a month for years. I’m disappointed to say the least. Have respect for your elders. One day that will be you.
Also, she had a walker and they blocked the exit with signs and cones for some reason. Inaccessible for handicap needs along with the...
Read moreWe used to pick up dinner to-go after the gym from this location frequently before the shut-down. Sometimes, we would purposely even go out of our way because the food was much better quality here than at the location closer to our house. After the shut down however, there was a major turn for the worse. My fiance and I sat down inside and waited at LEAST ten minutes before one of the passing servers decided to greet us. We waited another ten minutes before our server brought us waters and burnt coffee. No refills were ever brought out. I asked for gluten-free buns, bread, or pancakes like many of the Leo's have, but no one knew and long story short--they did not. After about half an hour, we were brought out cold soggy fries and eggs. I kindly asked for them to be sent back. After waiting longer for another fresh order to be prepared, the next item presented was also cold and had no flavor. We went to pay and asked for the cold eggs to be taken off--the manager at the front told us that there was no way she could take it off the bill because it was a "combo." Perplexed, we seemed to work out a negotiation deal where she would take off $4. Laughing at the bizarre-ness of the whole experience, my fiance and I agreed that we would never again come back to...
Read moreThis was my favorite place for breakfast years ago. Then in about 2013 the cook Ahmet left to start his own place. The guy that replaced him (short with black ball-cap) couldn't cook eggs, bacon or pancakes (which is a problem). Over the years he's figured out pancakes.. but the bacon is still odd,.. and he still burns the eggs. Order an omelet and he'll cook the first side until it's burnt brown. (Makes it easier to flip I presume). Then he flips it, and after a few seconds he folds it in thirds. So it's dry and burnt,.. and touch it the wrong way with your fork and it unfolds itself,.. revealing the dry, burnt side. No idea how he still has a job,.. other than perhaps the son of the original owner simply doesn't care like his dad did. On some Fridays a guy names Al cooks instead. He does a good job. So if you call ahead on Friday to see if he's there,.. it's still worth going. It's a bummer, as I pass it every day. Instead I have to drive 10+ minutes farther to take Woodward downtown so I can stop at Orig Pancake House or The...
