I'm torn about this restaurant. I rate the food a 4 because it was tasty however, the portions were a bit smaller for the price but still very good. It was cooked to order so the food came out hot and fresh. Also, the presentation of the food was plated very nicely. The atmosphere was comfortable and somewhat inviting. I say somewhat because of how we were greeted which brings me to my next subject, the service. Don't get me wrong, we didn't wait long for our food nor did we wait long to be served. Just an average wait time so that was not the issue at all. The issue was the attitude and demeanor of the young girl. When we first walked in, the young girl popped out from behind the curtain with a "mean mug" on her face. She didn't say anything so I chimed in. She grabbed the menus and told us to sit wherever we wanted. She then sort of "threw" the menus on the table and walked away as if we were a bother. The whole entire time her attitude was so uncomfortable to us and I felt if I asked for anything, I would be bothering her. She huffed and puffed when she walked away after taking our order. I was thinking "sorry for ordering?". I just couldn't wait to get out of there. All I know is if my kids were to act the way she was, they would be in deep trouble. I say I would come to this restaurant one more time just because the food was pretty good but if that young girl is the server, I'll take my...
Read moreThe food is absolutely excellent especially for Japanese comfort food. Best dish is hands down the Chicken Curry Katsu. I say all this to say, there is a young woman who works there who, and I don't mean to overextend when I say this, is quite overworked and overstressed.
Was not rude serving us, she said thank you, nodded when we gave our orders, and she even rushed out to give me my leftovers when I left them. She was wonderful, but sad and cried a lot in the back, even getting into a yelling argument with what I assume are her parents running a family business.
I don't know her situation but I know teenagers go through a lot, I'm asking other people who go there to be kind and be patient with her. She's a little bit short with people, but she'll be kind if you are kind to her. Please tip her well and if she's reading this, I hope you feel better. I hope you get through whatever is going on in your life. You are deserving of empathy and support, and every time I visit I'll make sure you get over 20 percent tip.

Read moreI liked this place a lot! It's really quiet and I was the only customer the majority of the time I was there. The employees were attentive and really kind. It was very quiet so I studied there for awhile. They have comfortable booth seating.
I got a milk tea and the matcha cake. First of all, wow, the matcha cake (they also had durian, vanilla and tiramisu flavors) was visually stunning and absolutely delicious! The price was really steep at almost $9 which almost made me not order it. Although it was super good, that is quite a lot to drop on a cake so I wouldn't order this every time I come in. I'm sure it must be time consuming to make considering all of the thin layers that must be made.
The milk tea was good, it reminded me of the royal milk tea I would drink in Japan. I'm no bubble tea expert so I can't comment too much on the quality - just that I thought it was tasty. They had much more on the menu and I'm looking forward to seeing what else they...
