Little Italy Market — Local services in Bloomington

Is it possible to give less than one star? I walked into the store knowing what I wanted, and walked right to that section. The store REEKED of spoiled food. I grabbed my items and went to the counter. The guy started talking to me like I had no idea what I was doing and started to show me a video on his ipad. I was in a hurry, so I was just trying to pay and leave, but he ushered me to the back of the store. When I saw the food prep area, I wondered if the health department has ever been there. He tried to make me taste a tomato sauce that was uncovered and unrefrigerated, and when I declined, he said that she wasn’t going to sell me anything. All of the cans I touched had dents in them (violation), one of the fridge doors was wide open for who knows how long (violation), all of the food that I looked at was expired (violation). There are other, cleaner international stores in Bloomington with respectful staff. Please don’t waste your time and money going...

As you walk into this little version of an Italian market you feel a sense of pride. You have a wide variety of snacks, cold meats, drinks, and much more. As you venture towards the back, you will find a convenient deli kitchen that will satisfy your hunger. As I asked for the top item on the menu, the meat sandwich, the choice of fresh mozzarella or provolone started to confirm the hospitality I’ve heard all about from this local shop. The cook started to slice up the cold cuts for our pesto meat sandwich with mozzarella and balsamic, I was given a surprise free taste of every meat on the sand which. Ok listen up. I normally don't leave reviews for places and just leave ratings but I had to for this place.

First, this is the first place I have found that sells guanciale or pecorino cheese. The market has so many great items.

Second, Habibi made the experience so good. He gave us appetizers (salami and bread) while we waited for our sandwiches to be made. He sat down with us and had a nice conversation as well. That kind of interaction does not happen often in my opinion. Similarly, Habibi gave us some free drinks to have with our sandwich..

For are the sandwiches: They are delicious. That is all.
