Down home, family-orientated, blue collar Breakfast Bunch kind of restaurant. Relaxed, though determined, little weary... But all the way ready to kill another day! The blue collar men and women of this country or severely overlooked. Underappreciated. Underestimated. Yet, they're the ones that go out in the weather day in and day out make sure that all of our 'essential necessities' (electric, water, wifi, cable, ect) are ready and working properly for you and your families. They're gonna get it done and done right the first time, bc they wouldn't expect or do anything less for their families. Treat people how you would want to be treated. 🎀Golden Rule people🎀 The World today seems dark and unforgiving... But there's still so much more goodness in the World than we're led to believe by tv, politicians... Turn off your tv, go for a walk. Pick up trash. Strike up a conversation with a stranger. Smile at someone, instead of eye each other suspiciously in passing. Go out and be the change you want to see in the world. You won't get exalted. You won't get a TV spot, or series LMFAO. Hell, you probably won't even get thanked. Might even get yelled at! At least you're doing something to change the world. There's no such thing as a small job if it needs to be done. White Collar CEO Fat Cats looking down on the blue collar man and woman.. saying they just don't want to work baby. I'd like to see them out there in the Rain, the snow, pouring concrete, hammering in nails, while their fingers freeze, and the steel toed boots that they are advised to have and where, sometimes even required, get so cold they can cause frostbite. Have you ever hit your finger with a hammer when it's freezing cold? All for $10 an hour. Depending on your experience, and whether or not you're in a union. I often wonder if they've ever had to experience a wonderful lifestyle choice of poverty. Of living paycheck-to-paycheck. When everything but maybe $100 goes to bills, food, surviving hey.. It's a little difficult not to justify something to break up the monotony. The slow, agonizing onset of jadedness. Quiet acceptance of our Low Places. The thing that pretty much the largest part of the population doesn't realize is... Too many High and middle-class people couldn't get by without us. The janitors, the Carpenters, the laborers, the waiters and waitresses, the bartender's, yes, even the strippers. The road workers, the truck drivers, the stock boys, the bus boys.. Or girls. Sorry, women and men 😊 my dad always said call me anything but late for supper. In other words, words are wind. People can call you whatever they want, only you can let it inside you, to hurt you. That was a frequent lecture from my mama in response to my anger, and confusion, and tears. Usually because I was being targeted in school, out of school. I let word bother me way too much. I allowed myself to become one of those liberals that screams 'tolerate my intolerance as I belittle you for your beliefs. Demanding that you acknowledge and adopt my beliefs. Because mine were right and yours were wrong.' Needless to say I've done a lot of thinking, and growing since then. We need to stop worrying so much about what things are called and how they're defined.. being offended is obviously a first world problem, and I'm so happy so many people have the luxury. Their feelings are hurt so bad they want to make everybody else around them suffer. That doesn't sound like a good societal structure. Stop worrying about being so politically correct. Start worrying about what you're contributing to the world..... I apologize, I'm on my soapbox again. Hold on, I'll get off....
Read moreOn the website page it stated that the restraint was open until 3 the day my family and I came in for food. We got there at about 1:15 pm it took 20 minutes to finally get acknowledged by a server. From the get go she was very rude and had a very bad attitude. The first thing she said to us was well we close at 2 and I can only put orders into the kitchen till 1:45 very rudely. We asked if we should leave and go else where and she said no. We all ordered water with lemons. It took my uncle asking multiple times to finally get his and my husband and aunt asked twice and never even got them. I used two sugar packets off the table that were at the table to be used to put into my water. The waitress then came up very rudely and aggressively said if you’re going to use sugar to make lemonade I’m going to charge you for lemonade. The first person she accused of this was my uncle. He never even used sugar. When I told her I was the one who did she said thanks for being honest very rudely. I told her every where I go I’ve never had an issue using sugar packets that were on the tables. The waitress came and check on us one time during the whole time there. The food came was good. The waitress said she told everyone that since we were a party of 6 she would automatically charge a tip. She did not tell my husband and I. We all drove separately and sat separately. When we explain this she did not care and was very rude. Halfway through the experience after having enough of her attitude we asked to get a manager. She told us she was not there. We asked her to get her on the phone she refused. We asked to switch waitresses she walked off and said ok then refused to get some one new. When explaining the situation to one of her coworkers she told us that they have had issues with this waitress and...
Read moreThe food used to be pretty good back before the actual owner handed control over to his son and his wife. Things started declining especially after the wife got involved as we can all now see thanks to her Facebook post. The saddest part of all of this is that thanks to the negligence of the owners the actual employees are going to suffer. The waitresses and other staff along with their families will have to deal with the aftermath of the comments being made by the owners. Now that their true colors are starting to show the business can be hurt and they will have to find other ways to provide for their families. Bringing people back from vacation with you and sticking them in your restaurant so you can have easy drug contacts isn't really being a multicultural business. Yelling at your waitresses while they are at a table in front of customers is also not good business practice. The restaurant would have been better left in the hands of the original owner or to the son who has the common sense to keep the business going (Cloverleaf South). Luckily, we will have at least one left in this town since the name Cloverleaf has been a Bloomington staple for over 30 years. I grew up going to this place back at its' original location and I am disappointed in the situations the owners keeping putting the business in. I pray for all those wonderful waitresses who will most likely have to find a new job because the owners wife is more concerned with her own financial gain to unsure she lives the "lifestyle" she feels entitled to. If was an employee I would start looking elsewhere because it's not looking too good for you...
