I'm only leaving a review. This low for three reasons. Staff with not so pleasant attitudes. An a perceived overall lack of care for customer issues. Also the constant short supply of popular dishess sold. One in particular the wicked Thai soup. It's almost as if they purposely run out by not making enough regularly . I have driven long distances , sometimes a hour plus . On days I've called ahead of time to verify they're serving it. Just to be told when I get there they don't have anymore. This has happened on at least 7 or more occasions no exaggeration. Which normally Oh well I'm cool with it annoyed, but cool whatever I missed it. This is norm I'm use to expecting that from this place at this point. However, the last time I went was the last straw. Now I have to leave a review on this place. I went I called first I was five minutes away. I was told they had wicked thai soup . I Arrive five minutes later and I'm told they're sold out. Then when I mentioned the fact that I just spoke to someone that told me it was plenty. The staff gets an attitude .
At this point I just asked them who their supplier was so I can just get it myself jokingly they got even more of an attitude after I asked that (jokingly). The food is good here! However Visiting Dagwoods may be a waste of time if you're looking for...
Read moreMy first experience was when I ordered a Reuben and the corned beef was awful. Honestly, it reminded me of canned dog food. The sandwich was barely warm, like it had been microwaved. It was so bad I actually walked back across campus for a refund, which is something I never do. Since then I have tried their other sandwiches from catering and school functions, and they have always been pretty bland, unfortunately.
I hate to write a bad review for a cool, local business, but I am not sure what people see in Dagwood's. (Maybe because they don't venture any further from campus?) Especially when you have places like Penn Station or Bloomington Sandwich Company just down the road and knocking out good sandwiches every time. I surely have not gotten unlucky each of the 5ish times I've tried Dagwood's food. I have no reason to be biased either, it's just I have tried about every sandwich place in town and can't understand why Dagwood's is so hyped. Sorry for the bad review guys, I'll be in town a couple more years and hopefully will...
Read moreWow! This place is nailing it with delivery!!
Across the places I’ve traveled and utilized a delivery service (postmates, uber eats, store-provided) I’ve seen many have trouble with delivering liquids and/or oily items. Plus, whenever I’ve ordered a drink, I’ve had it left behind more often than I’ve received it.
Upon opening my lunch order from Dagwoods, I was very impressed. Every item was individually saran wrapped, including my drink which came in a great reusable “pickle” cup. Nothing spilled even with my drink inside the bag.
One thing to note is I ordered pasta salad as a side in Uber Eats & it printed on the restaurant’s ticket as potato salad. Probably just a technical glitch and not a huge issue for me, but someone else might be disappointed to receive potato vs pasta.
Overall enjoyed my Dagwood on a kaiser roll — it was nice to have something fresh for lunch while stuck at the...
