Hartzell's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Bloomington

$5 for a medium twist cone. Ridiculous. Plus the guy set my come down on the dirty counter. Won't be coming back. The prices are almost double what they used to be! They've been price gouging during this inflation crisis and deserve to go out of business. Plus the ice cream had chunks of ice and other particles in it which is a sign they haven't been cleaning the machines as regularly as they should. Would give zero stars if I could, this place used to have a five star rating from me which makes it even worse! They've definitely fallen off a cliff. Nearly doubling their prices in the midst of an economic crisis is predatory, and egregious price gouging that deserves to be put out of business. Anybody who gives this place a five star rating after what they've been doing is delusional, or a biased shill. And to hear about the "free" ice cream scam they've been trying on kids makes me dislike this place even more. Absolutely scummy...

Great ice cream! I got mint chocolate ice cream in a regular cone. I ordered just once scoop. When I was handed over the cone I was very pleasently surprised to see the size of that serving.🙂 Like almost all things American, the serving was very generous. More ice cream for me.

The flavor was delicious. The ice cream was not too sweet, just the right amount of sugar. I could taste the mint and the chocolate. The balance of flavor was very good. There were no lumps in the ice cream, the texture was smooth on the tongue. It wasn't too cold and melted in the mouth evenly to slowly release the mint flavor, and then the choco chips came in. Excellent ice cream joint, definitely above a lot of others. They've got the usual soft serve, sundae, etc. setup like you would expect from such a place. They've also got hand dipped ice cream with a TON of cool flavors and cool names, none of which I could do justice describing here. They've got you're regular flavors like chocolate and strawberry, but then they have sh*t like green tea, Saigon cinnamon, blueberry moon or something awesome like that, and several others.

They've also got this stuff they call Carbolite, which is a low carb and (I think) dairy free. It's only like 25 calories per ounce which is...
