This place deserves much less than one star. Family brought us here for a quick brunch as we were in town. Key word 'quick' ha. So we walk in to an almost empty restaurant, maybe 4 or 5 tables filled, so we thought we could get in and out quick. First to actually get a waiter took over 15 minutes. We decided that since we had never been, we would try the brunch buffet since we wanted to try multiple entrees. We place our orders, a breakfast quesadilla. The waiter was so lazy he completely messed up all of our orders. This was definitely not the kitchen's fault. While waiting almost 20 minutes for the first set of quesadillas we got a giant caramel pecan roll. It was pretty good, nothing I would order again. I love all types of food, but this just lacked flavor. After a quick turnaround, we got our 'second' round of quesadillas in about 5 minutes, the time it should haven taken originally. Waiter didn't even stop by to apologize, actually didn't seem him, one of the personal attendants asked us if our food was correct, which it still wasn't, but we didn't want to wait again. Finally once all our plates and coffee cups were empty we see the waiter walking by, and when we call over to him he slams his receipt book on the bar and walks over to us. He asks if we're done, which we tell him we would like to try another entrée, clearly we could see what looked to be contempt in his eyes. We just had pancakes, sausage, and eggs. Again, very subpar food. Finally once we actually were done he came back and got our check. Wouldn't you know it that he managed to mess that up too. When he was rerunning it, which took over 15 minutes, a shift manager came over and asked if we were ok, we said we were waiting for our check. she went and got it right away, and she 'so graciously' took $1 off of each of our orders for the quesadilla issue. SO what should have been an hour took almost two, completely overpriced for what you get, and the absolute worst service I think I have ever experienced. I would not recommend going here...
Read moreI originally emailed this to the owner/manager, but they didn't even bother to respond. One of the other operators said he was sorry, and all the Ike's are independently run. The ratings on this store should not reflect on the downtown location or the Minnetonka one in my opinion.
This was from my email to the Ike's Bloomington regarding brunch on 7-13-19
"Hello,
Rather than ranting on Google or Yelp and never coming back, I thought I would try reaching out to you about an experience we had this weekend instead.
My wife and I had company in town, and they suggested Perkins for brunch.
I said,
“No way, I’ve got a much better place, really nice, great service and amazing food.”
Boy was I embarrassed this weekend at your Bloomington location.
The food was still very good, but the service was so slow it was like we were on candid camera or in some psychologists experiment.
I had to get up twice to ask for initial service, then a pancake refill for my son. A simple request for a straw and water took about 10 minutes!
I understand it’s really hard to find good help these days. Plus it wasn’t very busy, dead in fact, so perhaps it’s a money-losing store or day for you. But I grew up making special trips downtown to your restaurant. I really hope this is just an anomaly.
It’s not the experience I would want my customers having if I wanted them to ever come back and spend $120 on brunch.
Thanks for reading, and have...
Read moreDisappointed! This is NOT the same Ike's as it was a year or so ago! No more oysters for one, sadly. The ONLY steak option on the menu is a sirloin steak, yes 1 steak option. For being in an office building, I'd hate to have a business dinner or lunch here. My Seafood Louie salad seemed like something I'd expect at Applebee's or worse; iceberg lettuce (with some of the chunks from the core), literally a handful (5-6 pieces) of spinach, 3 shrimp and the crab was minced so much it was like sawdust - pretty sure it's from a can. Would NOT recommend that salad especially at $21, definitely overpriced. Surprisingly, the sliced avocado on the salad was perfectly ripe though. Happy Hour drink prices are decent, fyi. The bartender was attentive and friendly; however, I had to ask what their Happy Hour specials covered (she didn't offer). And then when I didn't see the Happy Hour appetizer options on the main menu, I once again had to ask her about those, in which she then handed me the Happy Hour food menu. I shouldn't have to ask for these things at 4:30pm. My husband's patty-melt and fries were 'fine' but the side of coleslaw tasted rancid. Doubt we'll ever go back here unless some major food...
