LORD. HAVE. MERCY. It is absolutely INCREDIBLE ..... how TRASH this is.
If you're a Midwesterner and you accept this version of "pizza" that you spend $3-$3.50 a slice on because you don't know better, then be my guest. I'm speaking from the perspective of someone born & raised on the 99-cent "dollar slice" (DMV area is where I've lived all my life, tri-state area/NY is where I have dozens of family members -- specifically Springfield Gardens aka Bronx).
This "pizza" is barely warm, even after time under the intense heat chamber in front of you, first off. A legit 99-cent slice would be so jumpin hot, that you'd throw it up in the air when you first get it -- even if it's on multiple plates. Secondly, even after you put the parmesan and red peppers on it, the remaining part (top of the slice) is ALL SAUCE. A slice at home would have so much stretchy, real cheese that you could jump rope through it. You shouldn't see much, if ANY, red stuff at the very top. Finally, pepperoni (I had one cheese & 1 pep) shouldn't be as round as a spaceship or an ultimate frisbee. The slice fit the plate perfectly when it should be 1.5-2x the size of the plate -- the concept is good value, good size, with a high quality recipe of course. The crust/back of the pizza also tasted like straight cardboard. Go online and search up "NY dollar slice", "DC dollar slice", "Adams Morgan jumbo/dollar slice"; compare it to your version, and see what I mean.
I rated this a 1/5 to be nice -- it should really be a 0. It made me remember why I always hit Goodfellas -- at least they would've missed the mark, but done a way superior job compared to this/came way closer to the real thing (3.5/5). Now I understand why I only have them and not this. The only reason this is popular is because it's one of like 3 places open really late at night.
If this is what y'all eat when you're back from KOK/Sports, you might as well have meals pre-made at the crib. Save...
Read moreI ordered a delivery and waited 2 hours before calling in to find out what was going on. They said they had received several orders that mine was on it's way. I then opened my front door and waited patiently for another 45 minutes. After calling a second time they informed me that a delivery driver had knocked on my door and called my cellphone. Neither of these had happened. They verified my address which was right, but the phone number they had taken down was incorrect. Instead of 8552 they had 8525. I then asked what was going to happen with my food that my two small children had been waiting 3 hours on their dinner and the man responded saying, "I have 9 orders in front of you. I'm not sending out your food." Which was a complete insult to me. I had already paid by credit card online.. not to mention it was not my fault that his driver got lost and did not knock on my wide open door. The man I spoke with then proceeded to tell me I could check my bank statements within 24-48 to validate the refund! This was down right rude and absurd! I'm a single mother and was spending the last of what I had to feed my children until the snow storm we are in the middle of was cleared of travel... and now I have no money to feed my kids.! I will never order anything from Rockits and I encourage everyone else to boycott as well! They are trash and will be turned into the Better...
Read moreUsed to love this pizza, don't know if I just got bad pizza on an off day or an owner change, I dont know- somethings different.
There was no flavor in our pizzas. Not even salt and pepper. I thought i was getting sick because it had no taste, but turns out im fine, but its the pizza that has no taste. Something was different this time versus a couple months back when we got it.
I know a lot of downtown bloomington is helping out the people who don't like salt, pepper, onion, or any flavor on their dishes, but come on man, you need to add some spice for flavor or else you might as well eat cardboard.
Isn't there a place in bloomington that can make a pizza that tastes like pizza?? Because so far nobody can make pizza. We have so many different type of cultures that come through this college town and nobody can make a...
