Read moreUpdate: After my below review was posted the owner reached out and apologized. Sje was very kind and so embarrassed that we had this experience. She has spoken to staff and also the waitress that had mentioned they were out of some items, it seems they were not out of them after all. They are working on improving their customer service with that said I would recommend you give this place a try because their food is DELICIOUS!!
We made reservations online and when we got there staff walked by us for about 10-15 minutes without greeting us or even saying someone will be right with you. Finally someone sat us she gives us our menus and asked what we wanted. Our friend ordered coffee and we ordered waters with lemon. When she came back she brought waters with no lemons or straws. Told my friend they did not have creamer or sugar. Asked if we were ready to ordered. I attempted to order the breakfast quiche to which she said “I had already told you we don’t have any” not polite at all. So I said no worries I would have the peanut butter waffles, my friend ordered the avacado toast and husband the scrambled eggs with bacon and had browns. About 5 minutes later waitress returns to say the waffle maker was broken. So I ordered the banana foster French toast. When our food arrived the runner that brought it asked if there was anything else we needed. My husband asked for ketchup and hot sauce, he only brought ketchup. Honestly at that point we just wanted to begin eating our food. The actual food was tasty and by far the best banana foster French toast I have ever had. My friend’s avocado toast barely had avocado, it was like a very thin spread. I wish I had gotten a picture of it. Our waitress never came back to check on us and someone else removed the plates when we were done. When she finally came back she said your food should be right out, to which we said we actually already ate and are ready for our check. It breaks my heart that the service was so bad since their food and atmosphere is wonderful. Maybe they can make some better adjustments as far as...
Read moreI visited Cupcrazed Cafe with three friends when we were visiting Blowing Rock. We were looking for a small bite to eat and visited the bakery, but they were sold out of most items. We averted our attention to the restaurant and looked at their menu and decided to have dinner there, which they weren't starting for another 30 minutes. We arrived about 15 minutes prior requesting a table understanding that we could not order until 5:00 p.m. We waited for a while outside. It seemed that the staff were a bit chaotic at the time. Once we got a table upstairs, the rest of the experience was just bad. The servers were really sweet and apologetic for lack of menus because their printer broke (no issue for us, it happens). It took a long time for us to get waters and then even longer to get our alcoholic beverages which were just versions of spiked coffee. $10 for pot coffee with some Bailey's is overpriced. The server was not aware of what beverage ingredients and food dishes were unavailable. When we ordered she had to come back two times to ask us to pick different things. I was unhappy with my choices. I got a cup of tomato basil soup and went it arrived it was room temp and the grilled cheese croutons were totally soggy. You could tell it had been sitting out for a long time. I got three chicken tacos and they were the smallest flower tortillas I have ever seen. I couldn't believe how tiny the portions were. The few times we asked for things it took a long time to arrive. I wouldn't come back here because the prices did not match the quality and portions of both the food and beverage. We would have most likely chosen a different restaurant if we all had cell phone service and saw the reviews because it sounds like we had a similar experience to many. If there were some changes though, I would try again. Maybe breakfast is much better there...
