I'm very behind at writing this review, but I still want to make sure it gets written: My husband and I lived in Boone right after we got married, and though we have since moved away, we frequently make trips back up to the Boone/Blowing Rock area when we can because we adore it. One stop that we ALWAYS have to make is the Inn at Ragged Gardens for dinner- always for the steak and Butterfinger cheesecake (when its available, you HAVE to order it- trust me, the indulgence is worth it). The last time that we went (the end of June this year), we made our usual reservation at the Homestead Inn and Cottages (also wonderful) and went to dinner to celebrate my birthday a little bit early. This time we had a waitress we've never met, and it was a TREAT. Remi (I hope I spelled that correctly) was so bubbly, warm, and funny, but also polite, and her customer service was bar-none. She made our evening so much more enjoyable (even though it was already wonderful), and she deserves all the praise. The Inn at Ragged Gardens will always be one of our favorites, and they are fortunate to have such amazing staff, as are their customers. Ragged Garden, if you see this, please tell Remi thank you for us again for making our experience amazing, and that we're sorry the...
Read moreMy wife and I visited Blowing Rock the weekend of 1/4-1/6 and stayed here. This was our 2nd stay at the Inn and it was fine except for Saturday night. We returned from dinner around 9:00 and there was a decent crowd in the lobby socializing, which is great. After lying down for the night at about 10:30 they seemed to be getting a little louder. We were able to fall asleep with pillows covering our ears hoping they would wind down soon. At 11:45 the crowd had become very loud and had started playing music. At 1:00 a.m. the party was still going on with full force. Finally around 1:30 I heard another guest that was trying to sleep ask them nicely to please quiet down to which one lady responded "kiss my a**!" Finally at 1:45 a.m. the party began to break up but not before taking several more minutes to get to their rooms making even more noise. I understand this is not a big chain hotel with a 24 hour staff but in a situation where basically every room is booked there needs to be some type of night watch. My suggestion is to bring earplugs in case this happens. Other than that the stay...
Read moreMy husband and I went at the end of September for our friends wedding reception that was actually being held at The Inn at Ragged Gardens. We cannot rave enough about our stay!! We were one of the last couples to check in due to traffic and they put out extra wine for us (wine and little hors d'oeuvres served early evening for check in)!! The FREE live music on the lawn was awesome and such a fun night (cash bar in the tent). The rooms were absolutely beautiful and our bed was sooooo comfy!! AND THE BREAKFAST, do not sleep on their breakfast (included with your stay)!!!! We are NOT morning people and we got up for breakfast everyday of our stay because it was so yummy! You HAVE to try the grits!! My husband does not like grits (he is from the north hahaha) and he ate half of mine!! The two main gentleman that run the Inn (I have since forgotten their names) were so nice and attentive!! They are super cute and you can tell they love what they do and take pride in it. We will definitely be planning another trip back!! It is too...
