📍Blowing Rock, North Carolina- 4 Day Itinerary Craving mountain views, epic adventures, and quaint small towns? Blowing Rock has all of the above! We fell in love with this town and all of the beautiful surrounding areas. Here’s our 4 day itinerary: Day 1- 🚗Drive in from the Blue Ridge Parkway, with tons of gorgeous overlooks along the way 🏡Check into one of their mountain view cabins, we LOVED the Legacy View Lodge through @yourmountainvacation 🌮Make tacos, soak in the hot tub, watch the sunset from your cabin deck Day 2- 🏘️Explore the awesome little downtown of Blowing Rock. Tons of cute shops and restaurants to explore, be sure to check out the library book sale if you forgot your book! 🥪Lunch at Blowing Rock Market 🛝Check out the awesome playground at Memorial Park 🍦Get Ice Cream at Blue Deer on Main 🍔Grilled dinner @yourmountainvacation 🥾Sunset hike to Rough Ridge Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway Day 3- ⛰️ Head to @grandfathermtn for a full day of adventure! Check out the swinging bridge if it’s open (Note- as of April 27th, 2023 the bridge is closed, check the website for updates). 🥾Hike the Grandfather trail (For the VERY adventurous families, rated HARD, with ladders, scrambling and steep drop offs but SO fun). 🐻Explore Grandfather mountain’s wildlife exhibits, be sure to check out the the animal encounters with the bears! 🎢Try the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster. A short but sweet kid friendly coaster through the mountain. @wildernessrunalpinecoaster 🍕Dinner at @mellowmushroom 🌅Watch the sunset at Thunder Ridge overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway Day 4- 🥾Hike the Glen Burney Trail and check out the many waterfalls. 🍻Grab lunch at @blowingrockbrewing 🚗Head home, preferably taking the scenic route on the Blue Ridge Parkway Have you been to Blowing Rock, North Carolina? Lando's Quick Review Food: I loved their Shitake Pie Pizza. It's absolutely covered in toppings, particularly mushrooms and a garlic sauce that I really enjoyed. Their mushroom soup was also very good as a quick appetizer. On a seperate occasion, I also had their Margarita Pizza. It was fantastic as well. Overall, their pizza is fantastic and the crust is to die for. Pricing: Their prices are higher than most pizza places, but if you all split a large pizza, it is still cheaper as opposed to getting 3-4 seperate dishes at most other restaurants. You can easily get out for $30 if you all split a pizza. Service: The person we had wait on us was very friendly and attentative. No complaints or anything to mention. Atmosphere: Nothing crazy here but it was very clean and pretty cool. Not a hole in the wall by any means.

I don’t have a clue what all the hype is with this place. The prices are astronomical and the food sucks. Portions are small. Booths you can feel the springs up in your butt. Service isn’t great. I took my friend here for her birthday on 2/25 and surprisingly the town was dead so we got right in. We were excited to try it. She got spinach dip which was delish except they give you hardly any bread and want you to pay $2 for more. Pizzas can run you over $30! I built my burger and got tots. My side was just 10 burnt flavorless tots. The ranch is gross. The burger was so dry because they won’t let you choose the rareness and overcook them. And they don’t give condiments with it. They ended up dropping my friends pizza so we were all about done by the time he got his food. That was the only thing they were happy with was the taste of the pizza. My husband’s calzone and dipping sauce was mid at best, the sauce is like tomato paste out of the can. I definitely recommend going elsewhere. It was $100 wasted.

We were doing some sightseeing at the swinging bridge, did some shopping, and we got hungry for lunch. We researched a few restaurants in the area, and the Mellow mushroom looked interesting. We ordered a Funky Q chicken pizza, which was delicious. Big chunks of chicken and BBQ sauce on a pizza. How can you go wrong? Our beautiful waitress Graysen told us the classic crust was good (instead of the thin crust), and she was right. There was parmesan sprinkled on the crust which was amazing! I also ordered a Havana hoagie, which was like a Cuban sandwich. Tasted great with lots of meat. The atmosphere was also fun and funky, with lots of mushroom related items. Definitely recommend!!

We were told that we could not eat indoors due to having too many people (20), but that we were welcome to eat on the heated patio. The patio did have 2 heaters, but only pushed out a small amount of heat if you were directly infront of them. (Standing in a chair.) There were no sides on the patio and no sunshine either. The wind was blowing and it was cold! Took 25 minutes to get drink orders and drinks, food was delicious when we all finally got it. Got no refill on drinks, waitress took 20 minutes to get checks all paid for and cards brought back. Do not sit in "heated" patio area unless you are willing to still be subjected to all the elements.

Pizza was great! Lots of pepperoni which was awesome. I ordered baked wing in hot (not hot at all) and Thai Chili. Though their menu says crispy baked wings they lack crispness. Hot sauce was was probably added then baked because the wings were dry. The Thai chili sauce was added to the wings after. My only complaint about the food is I ordered tater tots and got like 6 pieces. I would've preferred 12-15 tots for the price. Atmosphere is busy and loud. We ate inside and it was really warm. Too warm and stuffy. They need some fans for circulation and more bathrooms. One bathroom for each gender in such a busy place. So there's always a line.
