I've grown up here even been to this place several times with my mom but can say I was disappointed in how my friends were treated and my guess is from other reviews is because they were out of towners.
My friend went to the bar and attempted to order when he asked her what she wanted before she could even open her mouth in response the owner said "yea good luck with that" and walked away to sever someone that just walked up and ignored her husband.
We were dressed in Halloween themed outfits not costumes nothing extreme but yet the other locals were allowed to make fun of my friends and I. Nothing that we haven't really heard before. We do attend comic book conventions, guess what? We spend a lot of money there. Money that we were prepared to spend at this place but I won't be doing that anymore not that they care. We got up and left immediately (we were not kicked out). Place is just over all not as welcoming as it used to be.
He'll probably send another person to write a positive review to counter this one like I see he did to another review....
Read moreI have literally never been treated as rudely in any establishment as I was at this one. I came in with a 7 person party; we weren't acknowledged at all upon entering. There were only a few patrons, just sitting around talking. We didnt see anyone really eating or drinking. We walked around looking for a table that could accomodate our party. As we were looking, a member of our party asked if they serve food. The response was a very dry and rude, "Well.... you see tables, you see kitchens, so...." We immediately decided this place wasn't for us and headed out to leave. On the way out, we walked through a nearly completely dark room and another member of our party said, "Why is it so dark in here?" She wasn't actually asking, just commenting. She was met with, "Because the lights are off" in the most condescending tone.
All in all, these people need a complete rework in treating human beings with any sort of decency. It's clear that out of towners are not welcome here; might as well have posted that this is a local watering hole only, "others"...
Read moreHorrible horrible service. Whatever you do, do not order an “Irish car bomb” ! Owner needs to realize not everyone in the US knows the history of Ireland. I’ve been to multiple Irish pubs and gotten served Irish car bombs but ordering one here was very frowned upon. Next time someone orders one, you should probably be a little more polite and let the customers know why you won’t serve them instead of “no I won’t serve you that, I’ll instead serve you water.” No disrespect but manners/kindness is a thing and you should learn it. Also when we ordered the car bombs he proceeded to say “that is the equivalent to ordering the twin towers” no disrespect to what happened in Ireland but comparing that incident to the twin towers where almost 3000 people passed away is barely a comparison. Now we’re both disrespected, maybe you should “learn your history as well.” Besides that, no one should be comparing massacres ever....
