Updated from our Saint Patrick's Day visit which started around 430 in the afternoon.
Just have to say this visit will leave us not returning in the near future:(
Food this round was pretty bad... Service not much better
Started when we were ordering apps I ordered avocado fingers and she said thank you and ran off without taking the order from the others at the table, got her attention within 10 minutes and got the egg rolls ordered.
They both came out separately but the avocado fingers were horrible, heavy bread coating and extremely greasy and dark brown. My Lady previously had their avocado fingers and raved about them, she ate one and felt bad she recommended them as they were not close to what she had just about two weeks ago here.
The rest of the food came out and a bun was missing from the turkey burger and the food runner said he would bring it... NEVER saw him again or the bun from him.
The food all except for the turkey burger and chicken club sandwich was tasteless.
The shepherd's pie that is supposed to be a specialty here really was quite bland. The fish and chips with sweet potato fries, the fish really had no flavor was very very tasteless, have to say at least this time around the sweet potato fries were hot and pretty tasty. Same thing for the clam chowder, just like the fish, had all the right ingredients but just no flavor!!
We definitely waited for our food and the server finally did bring a bun for the burger. We asked for containers as there were plenty of leftovers as we hoped we could fix up the food we ordered to make it better by this time it was about 655. We also needed to know if the carrot cake had coconut in it as someone in our party is deathly allergic. It took to 710 for server to come back and already heard her say to other tables that she is the only one here for this whole side and they will have to wait!!
Flagged down the Manager Don who honestly I felt was quite dismissive of the whole situation and made it seem our waiting for service was because we asked about the coconut in the carrot cake. He did at least get us the carrot cake, bags for the leftovers that was not brought with the containers and the check to pay quickly!! Yes, still left a reasonable tip.
Just got a feeling customers are not appreciated , from the lack of service and any follow up by staff!! The restaurant was far from crowded or super busy for a holiday so maybe others are starting to feel the same way.
Possibly should of given one star but holding hope out it will improve, but I can only say right now you are off my list for a while.
PREVIOUS REVIEW
Food was pretty good, saying that as it was a long wait after ordering. The bacon cheese burger was delicious but the sweet potato fries which were an upgrade were lukewarm to cool and had to of been sitting for a while.
If I could of got the server back in a reasonable time would of asked for a replacement, but had to get to the Wick Theater for a show on time.
The servers are trying but yes they are young and inexperienced. I still gave the restaurant 4 stars as it is a great addition to the mall
Hopefully it will improve both service...
Read moreWe had lunch here on 1/13/2024 .. a group of 8 - 5 Adults / 3 kids ages 8 thru 12 . We were told that it would be at least a 25 minute wait for indoor seating so we chose outside. The first thing I noticed was how dirty the table was and asked for it to be cleaned . I asked again once we were seated and still nothing .. We ordered drinks and appetizers - which seemed to take forever . The lunch order was for 5 different Hamburgers, 1 kids Mac & Cheese and 2 orders of Seafood Paella . We also had 3 Crocks of French Onion Soup .. after another extremely long wait - we got 4 Hamburgers, 1 BLT ( which no one ordered ) I did not know of this until we left . The Paella was terrible - bland and filled the plate with a lot of Onions , Red and Green Peppers and Tomatoes. We have had Paella in different parts of the World - this was the worst . We had the Titanic for dessert as well as 3 Root Beer floats .. a terrible experience all around . I have been in Customer service for 34 years and this is now at the top of my list . My Son ate 1/2 of the BLT and said it was just too greasy . After paying our $339.12 bill - we left and vowed never to return . Also, there was a charge for a Bowl of Chowder which no one ordered and never came to the Table . From the time we entered the establishment - your hostesses were so busy chatting amongst themselves that I had to approach them. My sister who is far more patient than I am, asked me to not complain to management . They have lived in Boca for more than 30 years and enjoying trying out new restaurants as well as supporting the community . We have businesses of our own.. and would never tolerate this behavior. We also have 3 F&B Directors in the family so our expectations are rather high . I forgot to mention that along with Dessert we were given WET Sideplates which I had to wipe dry .. my thought was to send back and cancel the dessert but the kids wanted to try it . I hope no other family has such an awful experience as we did . I have my receipt if needed for proof . Server - Elizabeth Time 2:24 pm Table 602 /1 Date...
Read moreMy friend and I have been to this restaurant several times. Usually they let you call ahead and you get put on a list. However, they do not take reservations. On this date they were full and not taking any more call-ins. We were put on a list for seating that allowed for texting to advise your table was ready. We were told it would only take a half hour. Forty five minutes later we approached the hostess stand and noticed that they were seating people that were just walking into the restaurant. We asked the person who had taken our sitting information If we were called. She did not have an answer and forgot about u position. We had fell through the cracks. Another issue I had with the restaurant is the bathrooms were filthy. The garbage cans were overrun with paper towels on the floor and garbage. The sinks were dirty and there was no soap. As far as the food. I ordered the Wagyu beef hamburger which was fine. My friend ordered The Teriyaki Bowl, specifically asking for caramelized onions instead of white raw onions since he is allergic. However, his food came with cooked onions. Instead of complaining he just pushed him to the side and ate his meal. For dessert we ordered a s'mores platter. It's like a mini campfire where they supply you with marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers. On this occasion they gave us graham crackers that were already crushed and which you could not even use to make sandwiches with. Instead of complaining we just use what we had and finish dessert. When we ordered we asked for split receipts. When the waitress came they were not split. In addition, the waitress she seemed like she was in a hurry to clean our table. By then there was no wait and the dinner rush had died down. I hope the next time I go to Maggie McFly's that were seated in a timely manner at the restaurants a...
