Welcome to the neighborhood, Stage (pronounced Stahhhhge) Kitchen & Bar. We waited, and waited and alas you arrived. So beautiful, so elegant, so sophisticated in your design. Your wait staff and host are well-trained, polite and inviting. We felt so welcome, honored and comfortable sitting in 'table 40/The Mafia table' an upfront-booth that can accommodate 4. Rich navy, browns and gold touches feel sexy alongside the gorgeous lighting choices the designer of the restaurant chose. It is apparent that a lot of thought went into the decor.
The menu is eclectic with a balance of shareable Indian-fusion dishes and obligatory condiments and chutney's.
We started with cocktails. We both chose Stage's Hot & Bothered; a ghost pepper tequila, guava, lime, agave ($18). It packed the perfect punch of alcohol to spicy/sour ratio. Excellent sipping drink.
We then order the SPICY CHEESE NAAN ($14) with ricotta (it was recommended but just ok and nothing special) and cucumber raita, a nice cooling condiment that complimented our spicy drinks. A recommendation for truffle honey was delicious but came out in a ramekin that made it hard to scoop and serve.
For our shareable mains we tried and enjoyed the Lamb Kebab that comes with red onion and mint cilantro chutney ($21). The lamb was formed from mince and blended with delicate, warm spices such as coriander and cumin. I wish we had ordered more naan so that we could assemble a little 'sandwich' ourselves. Next time. We then also ordered a recommendation from our server a Wood Grilled Chicken PERI PERI that came with butternut squash, curry vinaigrette, onions and cilantro ($39). The moist chicken had a grilled/smokey quality that really shined through their marinade without being over powering as some wood oven dishes can get. For us, the butternut squash suffered from not being peeled rendering an off-putting hard bite. That's an easy fix for the chefs that I hope they do. We had the truffle honey on the table from our apps so we dipped the squash in that.
For a vegetable we opted for their turnips. Unfortunately, they were bitter and somewhat burnt and we would not order them again.
There are so many dishes we wanted to try but we were only 2 this time. We will be back, definitely with bigger appetites and more people.
Thanks again, Stage. I'm so happy you...
Read morePERFECT DATE NIGHT SPOT: If you’re searching for a date night spot in Boca Raton that combines creative cuisine, a modern vibe, and an outstanding cocktail program, Stage Kitchen & Bar is a standout choice. I recently took my wife here for a night out, and we were both genuinely impressed. Right away, the atmosphere struck us as stylish and contemporary, but still relaxed-perfect for unwinding together. The staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. One of the highlights for us was definitely the bar. The cocktail menu at Stage is as inventive as the food. I tried a drink with fresh herbs that was both refreshing and complex, and my wife’s cocktail was equally creative. It’s clear that a lot of thought goes into the mixology here, and it really elevates the whole dining experience. The bar itself is beautiful and lively, making it a great spot to start (or end) your evening. As for the food, the menu is full of small plates designed for sharing, which made it fun to sample a variety of flavors together. The Bang Bang Cauliflower was a favorite-crispy, bold, and unlike anything we’ve had before. The Korean BBQ Ribs and their twist on Shrimp and Grits were also fantastic, each dish offering unique global influences. Chef Pushkar Marathe’s passion for blending his Indian roots with flavors from around the world really shines through. His quote sums it up perfectly: “The way I see Stage is like it’s a big tree. The branches are my travels all over the world, but the roots are deep in India.” Overall, Stage Kitchen & Bar is a place where you can expect not just great food, but a complete experience-from the creative small plates to the inventive cocktails and welcoming ambiance. It made for a truly memorable night out with my wife, and we’ll...

Tucked behind a row of corporate buildings in Boca Raton, Stage Kitchen & Bar—pronounced Stahzhe, as we were corrected—offers sleek, contemporary decor that sets high expectations. But our 10:30 am brunch felt more like a rehearsal than a headlining act.
Notably, the restaurant accepted a 10:30 reservation even though the kitchen doesn’t open until 11. While we waited, we started with mocktails—but our top choices were unavailable. The turmeric-carrot-citrus blend tasted artificial and medicinal. The hibiscus, giffard, lemon, and club soda drink was fresh and pleasant—light and enjoyable—but ultimately forgettable. We stuck to sparkling water after that.
We began with the vegetable “parchadi” salad, a visually complex dish that promised boldness but delivered very little flavor. For mains, the Tandoori steak and eggs disappointed most: a tiny, overcooked piece of meat, flavorless eggs, and a sauce attempting to be creative—definitely not chimichurri, and not in a good way. The rice (which we subbed in for potatoes) was fine but unremarkable.
The butter chicken masala had decent flavor but didn’t stand out from standard Indian fare. Shrimp and grits lacked seasoning and shrimp. The salmon Benedict was average, and the sides—beets, mushrooms, bread, and sauces—were fine, but forgettable.
The menu ambitiously spans India, Spain, Peru, the U.S., and elsewhere, but doesn’t commit or shine in any one direction. At nearly $350 for four, the value wasn’t there. Stahzhe looks the part—but the food...
