I have gone to this restaurant a total of 10 timesā¦Motek Is a restaurant with two locations one in Miami and one in Boca Raton. I have personally been to both locations . I do not know the owners. However, out of curiosity, I looked up who the owners were. I just wanted to give The owners kudos for such a job well done. It is a very impressive restaurant. You can tell the owners really put a lot of thought , creativity , and Love Into this Restaurant. You can tell There heart and soul is in this restaurant. Which led me to look up, who The owners of the restaurant were , there names are Charlie and Tessa Levy , A beautiful married couple which have done such a great job with The food, which is exceptionally good . If I had to rate the food from 1 to 10, 10 being the best I would rate the food a 10 probably , even higher than 10 because it exceeds expectations . The same with the atmosphere 10 out of 10 probably , even better than that, It as well exceed expectations. Their happy hour is very creative idea. Also, their food is very healthy without any junk garbage seed oil , you can tell and taste how-fresh it is. I love the healthy Mediterranean/Jewish food However , when it comes to the service. I definitely am not impressed with that. I would rate it a four maybe even less. Due to The fact that you have hostess standing around talking amongst each other, ignoring you. Not even acknowledging that you are there, not even greeting you. Also, when you finally get seated, you sit for a very long time before the waiter, or Waitress, comes up to take your order or acknowledge you . To many People too standing around, talking amongst each other and not working and are looking at you and not acknowledging you. Also, I had a gentlemen come up sweeping while I was eating, which I did not appreciate.This unfortunately, and is not the first time it has happened to me. Sitting and waiting and not being acknowledged . Itās happened every time Iāve been to either to the Miami or Boca Raton location. Which is kind of sad Because , I donāt really think or know if the owners are aware of it. Also, on many occasions when itās time to pay and given the receipt to pay, It has a little review on the end of the ticket when you pay. On the payment terminal. However, each time the waiter or waitress grab it away from you and does not allow you to write what you want to write to indicate to allow the owner to know what is really going on? They always say they will save you the trouble of filling it out for you Seriously..,. That is my only problem with the restaurant is the service. It is everything people rave about and more; definitely not to be missed. If you are fortunate enough to have one in proximity, go. You can thank me later. I canāt wait for them to open in Palm Beach.
Not only is the food sensational, the service is top-notch and the experience begins from the moment you walk up to the front door. You greeted so warmly and walked to your table. This restaurant is visually stunning inside. Reminds me of the Amalfi coast⦠And that is by designā¦
We had the mushroom hummus, roasted cauliflower and falafel to start with. Everything was absolutely fantastic. The mushrooms in the hummus were to die for. The cauliflower had a sweet and spicy taste contrast and super crispy on the outside. The falafel as expected was great, perfectly crispy on the outside and soft deliciousness on the inside. Roasted zucchini on top was a nice touch. We split the lamb Shawarma plate which was perfect because we were already starting to get full with all the appetizers. The lamb was so flavorful, youāve gotta try it to believe it. By the way the pita/naan was fluffy and insanely good. For dessert my husband had the pistachio cheesecake, and Iāll say that even though Iām not a big pistachio fan, this was ridiculously good. I took the Knafe (another dessert) to goā¦. Thereās old movies from the 70s projected onto one wall which is a very cool touch, the signature yellow fiat car in the front and sprawling lemon trees round out the decor. Super cool trendy vibe, absolutely loved it here and canāt wait to go back. Iād like to sign a petition asking for Motek in Palm Beachš I would be remiss if I didnāt give props to Kayla our server, she was fantastic, super knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I love how she pulled up a picture of the dish on her iPad in case I wanted to see what it looked like. Cool touch, I like pictures of food.

It's about $30 for a kebab with no sides so I got the side of lentil rice which was amazing and we shared a ceviche, hummus, shawarma and lamb kebab which were all good!! We were having a great experience and our server was really knowledgeable on the menu and attentive. Unfortunately, once the bill came I put in 20% tip which was about $20 and my friend put 0 because he thought I had given him the full tip for both of us, on my bill. My friend had already signed the bill and received a receipt when the waiter goes "the service charge was not included in the bill" and my friend goes "ok" and he goes "well why did you put $0?" my friend says, "oh sorry I thought she left a tip for the both of us" and he says "no she left 20% would you like to do the same?". I really couldn't not believe 1) he was putting my friend on the spot like what type of pressure tactic was that and 2) he outed how much I gave him which is a huge mistake. A simple "would you like to add gratuity?" Would've been just fine. My friend genuinely didn't realize because you would think making $20 in tip off one table for an hour was enough but it didn't sit right with us at all how he approached it. Before my friend could even answer he goes "let me get a manager to fix this" and walks away. Me and my friend are deliberating what we'll do once the manager comes and I said just leave 15% and call it a day. Well to our surprise, he comes back without a manager but instead, with an itemized receipt with 20% tip included without the consent of my friend! My friend literally did not say a word when he asked if he wants to match, he gave him like 3 seconds before he walked away and we were just shocked. Mans just made $40 in an hour off us because he saw us as a target. We were going to tell a manager but the restaurant was so packed and we didn't see her so we just left and sent the restaurant an e-mail which they didn't respond to. I hate leaving bad reviews but I'll never be coming here again, worst service experience of my entire life and the food was good but not $200 plus being scammed for a tip for 2 people good.
