Now a days it’s hard to find a good Mexican restaurant with live music especially Mariachi. After surfing through instagram, I came across @cocina53_ ad & asked the Tóxico Panzón if we could try it out for my birthday weekend
All I can say is, I will not go back. The prices were too high for what we received. One of the servers kept passing behind me so close with food and drinks that I literally thought he was going to bump into me. The restaurant management really needs to look into doing a different setup.
From the beginning, it took almost 10 minutes to have a server come to take our orders or even offer water which by the way we never got.
The salsas had no flavor at all and the drinks era like agua frescas instead of a cocktail that I even asked, if they gave me a non-alcoholic drink.
The food was sort of ok with its bit of flavor. The homemade tortillas were good which I have to give it to them.
If you decide to go, DON’T order the queso fundido w/steak because parecía que les venden el queso. It didn’t have no cheese at all and it’s a robbery for what they charge.
Also, no vayan con tanta hambre because they take forever to even get your order started.
Overall, we will not go back as it was a HUGE disappointment but we will still continue our search for a good Mexican restaurant w/live mariachi because this was not it.
Note: Mariachi was ok and I will leave at that.

Read moreMy coworkers wanted Mexican food for a team lunch of 20 people, and Cocina 53 delivered an authentic experience with a 2 days notice. The food arrived on time, hot, and there was plenty for everyone, many of us went back for seconds, and we still had leftovers.
The food was flavorful, and my coworkers couldn’t stop talking about it. The handmade tortillas were a standout, along with the variety of meats and sauces. It truly was authentic Mexican cuisine.
Customer service was also excellent. Cocina 53 was very flexible and accommodating, especially considering the logistics of delivering to an office in the City.
Highly recommend for any group or corporate lunch, we’ll definitely be ordering again!
Ordered off the catering menu; steak, chicken fajitas, and the office...
