Of all the Popeyes I have gone to this HAS to be the worst one yet. I ordered online for pickup and I got to the intercom and told the Popeyes employee that I ordered online for pickup. She asked me my name and I told her and she said okay. I waited behind two cars for 10 minutes. By the time I got to the window they pretty much asked me what did I want, as if they were caught off guard by my presence. I told them I am the one that ordered online to pick up. They asked me my name again! Frustrated, I immediately drop my head and told him my name again. So they go back I guess to check the computer and it took another 5 minutes for them to get my order ready. I ordered three tenders with mashed potatoes no gravy, a large soda with no ice, french fries and two spicy chicken sandwiches. They finally give me the bag of food but no drink. So I'm sitting there for another few minutes. So again they come to the window asking me what did I want. Frustrated AGAIN, I didn't say anything this time but I put my hand in the holding a cup position and put it to my mouth a few times as if I'm drinking out of a cup. So they asked me what kind of soda did I order. I told them what I ordered and included in the statement no ice, and they came back with the soda full of ICE! So when I took it I just immediately said "what is this?". She asked me what was wrong and I said the soda is not supposed to have ice. So she took the soda back and immediately returned with one with no ice. As I'm pulling away I said let me check the food to make sure everything is okay. So I pulled over to the side in the parking lot to check, and everything was in order except the mashed potatoes was full of gravy. So I double back through the drive-thru. As I'm sitting there I see in the store there were 2 customers that appeared to have complaints about their order. Play pulling back through the drive-thru I am again behind two cars and I look ahead and it appears that the car that's at the drive-thru window also has a complaint. I don't know what they were saying but when people are handling food back to the restaurant and they're face appears to be angry and you see them pointing and throwing their hands up in the air that's usually a sign that they're upset. So before I get to the window I take my receipt I circle where it says no gravy. I get to the window and again it's this what do you want kinda of thing, instead of a proper "how many I help you?" Customer service greeting. A hand her the receipt with the mashed potatoes, because at this point I am also getting angry, and I asked her "what does that say?". And so she reads the receipt, she takes the individual sized mashed potatoes with gravy back, and get me a large mashed potato with no gravy. I have never been to a restaurant with so many lost, confused looking employees. If you have the patience and really want Popeye's Chicken feel free to go to this one, but this was...
Read moreThis place is located in a very convenient spot however lacks proper training in customer service. Just got done speaking to Manager named Juan if that was his real name; he was combative and has a hard time dealing with role as a effective leader. He kept talking over me and was unable to sympathize with my frustration.
I ordered a "Dine for 2" meal which included two biscuits, two sides, and either five mixed wings or tenders. They were currently out of thighs when I ordered but I still have a preference of dark meat. I regretfully didn't check my order before leaving the drive through so when I got home I was shocked that I received five drumsticks. Called "Juan" who stated that that's all they had at the time and that they only had one available fryer and it would be a one hour wait on fresh chicken. But he added I could come back and they can provide me with a fresh order. Sounds reasonable enough right? I asked him if its a hour wait, what would change with me coming back in 15 minutes? Then the problems began... In the middle of me trying to explain my point, he cut me off numerous times and I had to finally step in and ask him to stop assuming what I was going to say next because he's not answering the question at hand. So after letting me talk, I ask him is there a guarantee if I get back in my car the chicken will be available. There was a long silence and I had to keep saying hello constantly. I believe he may have pulled the phone away from him ear because the next words out of his mouth were, "I am waiting on permission to talk" . I said "I just asked you a question, you're not a child and I'd hope you'd know when someone is asking for a response". I mentioned that I didn't feel comfortable with me returning at this time due to how iirate the situation was becoming. I said numerous times I wasn't mad. But I needed clarity before I got back in the car to go there. Then it became combative, I asked for his corporate number where he proceeded to tell me that they will just email him to get in touch with me and that I can not tell him how to do his job. After going back and forth, the call finally ended with me telling him that he seems frustrated at felt as if he didn't like his job. He stated liked his job over and over as if he was saying it to himself. It was to the point were I just disconnected the call due to the immense amount of "I like my job" coming from the other end of my line.
Juan needs to be properly trained before being a suitable as a manager. He may "like his job" but he isn't very bright and needs to be...
Read moreThis is the only Popeyes in Bolingbrook- that's all it has going for it. I have received wrong orders & I've also had orders with exceptionally long wait times. Today I placed a mobile order, when I got to the window they had no clue my order existed & told me to pull around. This has happened to me several times before so I told the worker this has happened in the past & they always take forever. He said it'll be 3 minutes. Waited in the car for 5 or 10 minutes & then went inside to wait to hopefully get them to prioritize my order. AFTER waiting an additional 5+ minutes waiting in the restaurant I go ask about my order- when I tell him the order number a different worker starts making it. My order hadn't even been started or thought of- others came in while i was waiting, placed, and received their order!
After I receive my completed order I ask to speak to the manager - the worker "Bobby" says he's the lead. I explain how I've been told to pull around several times with mobile orders- to have to chase my food down from them or wait an extremely long time. He says very smugly "probably due to poor management". I tell him yes, exactly, I'm expressing it to him so they can find a solution. He pretty much again responds "it's probably poor management" & basically his tone is saying he doesn't care & why do I keep coming back if it's so bad. So rude & clearly doesn't care about the job. I ask the name of the manager, he says the name and points to the door. At that point I wanted to return the food to get my money but I already knew they wouldn't be capable- his response is "we don't refund mobile orders". So Bobby thinks his team should be able to waste my time, take my money b/c they don't refund mobile order, & be nasty & rude? Interesting
I called the restaurant hoping to leave a message for someone in actual leadership and Bobby answered. I asked to be put through to voicemail - he said they don't have voicemail....
