If I could give a zero I would. The staff is very rude. They could not provide towels for their guests. I’m not sure if they are experiencing homelessness in the area or not. They pretty much treat you like a criminal for asking for fresh towels. I sent the below email to the manager and she didn’t respond. I will never ever visit this location again. They give MARRIOT a bad name and image.
Hello, I am currently a guest at Fairfield. I am sending this email to address a few concerns that I have. When I arrived to the establishment my room was not ready. I arrived after the check in time. I was told by one of your staff members that the room was not available. She was very rude. She pretty much told me that the room is not ready and there is nothing she could do about it. It’s not what she said but the way she said it. That was the first thing.
Secondly, upon leaving out of the facility, I was asked if everything was ok. I explained that I needed additional towels in my room. I wanted to know if I would be able to call down to request them or ask for them once I return. The staff person said, well isn’t it 4 towels in your room. I said no there is only 3. She went on to say well, we will give you 1 towel upon your return. I told her that we take showers at night as well as in the morning. I should not have to explain our routine to anyone. It is my understanding that the room sleeps 6 people anyway. I am a guest and should not be hassled about towels. I had no idea that Marriott facilities are rationing out towels. It made us feel like she thought we wanted to steal the towels. Upon our return we were given the same treatment from another staff person that I’m sure the previous staff informed her of the issue. I was told that asking for 4 towels was a bit much and now she only has 2 left. I am just appalled to say the least. Do they expect us to share towels? This will be my last time staying at this facility because the treatment I received is unacceptable. I understand keeping inventory but saying I will be charged for towels and not wanting to provide towels is ridiculous. Who will be responsible for counting the dirty towels? I want to make sure my card is not charged. Sorry for the long email but I am just not happy with what occurred. I have been a Marriott rewards member for a long time and I don’t appreciate being treated this way. Is there a district manager? If so, please forward me his or her contact...
Read moreStaff and manager was rude and non-accommodating. We were a family group that was displaced due to the tornado that hit Naperville recently, and we had to vacate our apartment building due to structural damage and safety concerns. We informed them of this and asked if there was anything they could do to help us out, as this was an unexpected cost. We were not asking for anything free of course, but for them to look into any possible discounts that they could provide. The tornado happened in the middle of the night, and we were so tired and exhausted and, of course, shaken up from the trauma of surviving an F3 TORNADO that demolished our apartment building. They had no empathy towards our situation. In fact, they seemed almost mad and annoyed because we were tornado victims. They kept saying that there was nothing that they could do, and the best they could offer was $5 off the room, which is the same rate they offer online. So, no. They didn't care, and they didn't want to be bothered by us. We still got the room, because everything else was pretty much booked (which I am assuming because of other people being displaced), and paid the rate that they offered. Not only was the staff rude, but the rooms were filthy! Stains on the bedding and the restrooms were not cleaned properly (human hair, soap scum, etc.). This was suppose to be a newer hotel, but, obviously they are not up-keeping it well. The next morning, we informed them of the dirty rooms, and they got upset at us as if it were our fault. There again, they had NO SYMPATHY towards our situation. WE WERE TREATED like trash that needed to be thrown out. The manager made us feel un-welcomed and discriminated against. We have L.G.T+ family members, and I am assuming that could possibly be a reason why they treated us this way (or they're just simply cruel people in general). These people are not human, and do not care if you're going through a traumatic experience. They just want to make sure they get their money. Do not give your money to these evil people. Find somewhere better and...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel two days ago and I wanted to write a review in the hopes that the feedback would encourage, but also provide ways to improve, both for this hotel and for others who might use online reviews as education opportunities.||||Here are the things that were good about this hotel: No shower curtains - REAL shower doors - and they were clean. In fact, the whole hotel seemed clean. As someone who has a fragrance allergy, I was VERY appreciative that this hotel did not join the bandwagon of the new and awful trend of placing fragrance misters, air fresheners, etc. every three feet. There are millions of people who are allergic to fragrances (some don't even know it) - air fresheners are the enemy to those people. The hotel was bright and again, seemed clean. I did sniff the bedding and it had a clean hint of bleach smell to it, which I did like. The coffee at this hotel is delicious and the breakfast was good. The people were super helpful and friendly. ||||Here are the things I did not like/enjoy: The bed was way too soft. Both me and my husband woke up with neck and back pain. The air conditioning unit in our room (Room 406) had a faint odor coming from it at times. It smelled like body odor. None of these things would hinder us from staying at this hotel again. ||||Things I wish the hotel would consider doing - giving guests a "fragrance free" option for soaps, lotions, shampoo. Keep in mind, "fragrance free" means there is no fragrance. "Unscented" is not the same thing. "Unscented" can still have irritants. Also, it would be nice if hotels would stop putting little bars of soap by the sink for handwashing. Who washes their hands with bar soap at home? Nobody. How about some unscented foaming soap in a pump?||||Thank you for the opportunity to put a review out for the betterment of...
