Absolutely Heartbroken and Let Down by McDonaldâs â A Miserable Experience Over Minecraft Toys
I donât usually write reviews, but this experience hurt more than it should have, and I canât stay silent. McDonaldâs is running this Minecraft-themed Happy Meal promo, and being fans of both nostalgia and the game, we decided to make a small day out of it. Just me and one other person. We went out of our way and spent more money than we normally would, ordering three separate Happy Meals in hopes of getting different Minecraft toys â maybe even just one cool one between the three. Thatâs all we asked. A little variety. A little joy.
But no. All three meals had the exact same toy â the most basic, boring, widely distributed toy in the whole set. No effort to differentiate, no care for who receives what. It genuinely felt like they just reached into a box of leftovers and tossed them in without a second thought.
We werenât even a big group of people. Just two of us. And we went out of our way to try to support the promotion, excited like kids again, hopeful to leave with something fun. We spent what little extra money we had for this little adventure, and McDonaldâs couldnât even bother to mix it up. No random toy joy. No excitement. Just copy-paste disappointment.
I know itâs âjust toysâ to some people. But itâs more than that. It was a tiny, hopeful moment in a week of stress. A small gesture that couldâve made us feel seen or like our excitement mattered. And instead? It honestly just made me feel stupid. Ignored. Like we didnât matter.
This isnât about entitlement â itâs about carelessness. McDonaldâs, if youâre going to run promotions that stir up joy and nostalgia, the least you can do is put in some effort to deliver on that promise. But this? This felt like corporate apathy in the purest form.
I walked out not just disappointed, but genuinely sad. Like a kid who thought theyâd get a rare PokĂ©mon card and ended up with the same energy card three times in a row. Except Iâm not a kid. And I spent real money. And I canât even laugh about it.
Do better, McDonaldâs. You ruined what couldâve been a sweet, memorable moment. And now, itâs just...
Read moreOur local McDonald's has become so bad. The service is always slow, and every single visit there is something wrong with the order. Literally er can ask if something in the order was done and they will look right at you and say yes, only to check the bag while asking and have it not done. It's gotten to be a joke. For example, we order one item and one drink. It was a big Mac NO pickles and a diet coke. Simple order right, wrong. The cooks put EXTRA pickles and the drink we were handed was a coke. Which is amazing sine the pop machine Literally does the work for then, all they have to do is hand out the drinks in order of how the machine filled them. And how does No turn into extra. It's like this everytime. I often will order nuggets made fresh, because we all know they taste blah if not super hot and h Juicy, I will say may I have a 6pc made fresh but please don't just reheat already made ones, please drop fresh nuggets and I have to check before pulling away because they will simply Redrock nuggets that have been sittings there already, the staff is too young to handle the crowd. These managers are the age group of the patrons they need to tell to quiet done and stop climbing over benches or swearing loudly around children. How does our McDonald's expect a high school student to tell their classmates to behave or worse to leave. The whole location is a hot mess. I don't recommend lemont...
Read moreCan even describe how disgusted I am with this McDonalds. Just over a month ago (June 28) I got food from the drive thru, and they forgot my daughters food. So I called and was told that next time I come back they would replace her meal. Nothing for my trouble, they would just give me a meal I already paid for. Went back the next night, ordered $40 worth of food, and they screwed up AGAIN, even though I was back getting a replacement meal for a screw up along with other food. Only this time they forgot half my food! So I called, spoke with the manager Kristin, and was told next time I came in they would buy my entire families meal and give me some value meal cards for future use because it was a second screw up and it was a big one. I went back tonight and ordered about $40 of food for my family, and was told that because Kristin does not work there anymore and that it was over a month ago they would not honor it, best they could do is offer me a free meal, even though they forgot $20 worth of food last time. Unreal. I can not believe this is how they treat customers, I will be letting everyone know and calling corporate. So unbelievable that they screwed my order up so bad and wonât honor what I was told. Do not spend your...
