By far one of the worst McDonalds in the area to order from, for a company that has made it increasing difficult to order from.
Firstly, McDonalds kiosks are not user or deal friendly. Nor are the mobile app deals any more intuitive for non-mobile orders. Nobody wants to do business those ways. Also, do McDonalds customers actually prefer mobile ordering rather than drive thru? Doubt it! MCD's customers are conditioned to in-store or drive thru ordering, so please stop catering to self-service and mobile ordering.
At the BL location, the storefront is very cramped and puts its stupid kiosks practically in front of line. I feel less dehumanized using a Vegas slot machine than those POS kiosks. Get rid of them - they are abhorrent. Sadly, the location reminds me of the feel of the Sea Tac Airport McDonalds but worse because you expect the airport location to be a bad experience (and it's actually fine).
At the BL McDonald's it's not order accuracy at fault but it's just generally difficult to order from. It's rare when a business chases customers away but this is one of those locations I think.
When you go through the drive thru - and it pains me to say this because I worked fast food for many of my first jobs as a kid - you run a 25-50% chance of some workforce newbie who is too zoomed out to realize taking somebody's food order is simple af, no cap.
Tonight, I reversed out of the drive thru mid-order because the order taker could not understand anything I said, was impatient, and seemed clueless. No hyperbole, this happened with my entire family in the car, including three kids asking for Happy Meals. I will give someone three total tries, and if you screw it up you don't make the sale. Sometimes to the point I will 'walk out'. This location did not make the sale and get my money tonight... not going to happen.
My thought process is that if you can't take my order you shouldn't be making my food, and damn well won't be taking my money. Consider that time-tested fast-food wisdom.
I would ask the ownership and management of this location to secret shop their store, then other comparables, then other restaurants altogether. Don't look at it from a metrics standpoint of 'time to deliver', blah blah blah. Look at it from a customer/user perspective and ask yourself:
I've been a lifetime customer of McDonald's (nearly four decades) and in different states/countries so I speak with some authority on this topic. The food tastes fine, the employees whom aren't space cadets are great, the place is clean, time to deliver is great. However I will avoid this location now based on the trending poor ordering experiences, especially with the Buckley location coming soon!
Plus, there's no Playspace at this bedroom community location. It's like the Marketing department got it all wrong...
Read moreStarving and broke, I pulled up the app. Enough points to redeem a quarter pounder with cheese for mere pocket change with the purchase of a regular priced one. To the drive-thru I head, but it's stacking up fast for the lunch rush, and I was denied a break in that line by a few also hungry people, which I was there prior to. Now frustrated with no place to park a trailer, I put it in the banks drive through with my hazards on and hoofed it. this was kind of an emergency, and I did not completely block it. Two cars could have passed at the same time. Now, in the store, a couple of young men are placing their order ahead of me as they were there first. The growing boys (young men) were not going to starve when they got their order, but I was getting a bit of a headache, which is rare for me. I was happy to hear a friendly voice asking if they could help me at the other register. I am fairly certain that the manager, who I have no name for just yet, was taking my order. I did it all wrong, and then he made it right. Without the slightest of issues with my mistakes or me personally, he gave me the change and before coins setteled in pocket had two quarters in my hands, fresh off the grill, and the day was saved. I love the way he did it and appreciate him for it. Thank you, sir, for the exceptional service. You...
Read moreMy wife and I went to the drive through today. The lines were moving then when we got up there our side stopped. After repeatedly saying HELLO into the speaker the girl comes on and says she would be back in a moment. 5 minutes later and 4 cars going through the other side she finally comes on and takes our order. We pay then pull up to get our order where the kid handing out the food tells us to wait in the line where you sit and wait. I asked him to throw in something extra for the long wait he says HOW ABOUT A PIE? I said how about 2 since their are 2 of us he responds ok. Our food finally comes and I check the order and no pies. I told the kid that brought it out and he says he will go back and get them. He didn't come back but the manager comes out and basically interagates us. We told him what was said and who promised the spies. He hands us the 2 pies but you could tell he didn't believe us. It wasn't about the free pies, it was the principle of the whole experience and the fact that the employee lied and was called out on it. The manager did not need to come out and interrogate us the way he did. It was embarassing. We will not go to McDonalds in Bonney...
