This is ITALLIAN (American) food! The store front is unassuming and who cares? If you're constantly disappointed by the resturaints in The North End, make an effort and come to Allston. The food is very delicious and filling, so be prepared to eat when you show up. The wine selection is solid and every recommended pairing has been on point.
A friend who was visiting from Florida lamented about not being able to get decent Italian food where they live. We had dinner at Alfredo's and they were transported back to being a kid in Nona's kitchen. Homepiece hadn't has lasagna in YEARS because 1. they didn't want to make it at home 2. there was no acceptable source of lasagna. Honestly, this was some of the best lasagna any had ever had.

You might not expect such magic to come from such an unassuming location (or would you???).
Super smooth customer experience: Alfredo answers the phone, Alfredo cooks the dish, Alfredo greets you when you come to get it. Like a review before me said: "no fuss".
Any negative reviews on this place is nonsense. I don't usually write reviews on here but Alfredo's has a special place...

Alfredo’s pasta recipes are quite simple, yet oh so delicious. It’s not trying to be fancy and mixing in a ton of different ingredients, it’s all about getting the right taste and texture. The ingredients are fresh, a bonus for a no-frills restaurant with only three tables. Traditional homemade pasta is the way to go here to get that al dente goodness
Alfredo himself runs the restaurant single-handedly and is often very busy multi-tasking as a result, but if you can catch him when he’s got a free moment, he’s also friendly and...
