The short: Terrible service, pretty confusing menu, less than 5 menu items actually available, 1 cocktail option (draft cocktail) and 3 beer options.
The long: I really want to like this place as it is a format of dining that is not very common in this area (i.e. made to order, easy and quick). We went on a Saturday night about a week after they opened to check it out. The lights were way to bright and gave the whole place sort of a cold feeling. We sat at the bar since there was a pretty long line. The bartender seemed like she hated her job as she said hello but offered no menus, didn't ask about water/drinks and just went on her way running back and forth cleaning up/putting glassware back.
When we finally found the menus at the bar, we looked and decided what we wanted. Turns out they didn't have it available. Bartender gave us no direction but we looked at the menu to find something else. Ordered again and after putting the order in, the bartender came back and told us they didn't have either of the things we ordered and claimed no one told her until just then. Fine. We order the one cocktail and a beer. Beer was a beer but the cocktail was so sugar filled it was hardly drinkable.
We finally figured out what they had for food and ordered for the 3rd time. After the bartender telling us what we could pick from, the meat option we wanted to try was apparently also out. We decided to just call it quits and finish our drinks. 5 minutes later a dish comes out, that we didn't order, and is said to be ours. After telling the bartender that we didn't order or want the dish, she offered to not charge us for it (so kind of her).
I will say the yogurt and fruit filled dish was pretty tasty but not very filling. We ate it, I finished my beer and we left the lone sugar filled cocktail at the bar.
Overall very disappointed, the menu was pretty confusing and could use an overhaul to clearly explain the steps of how to create a dish. The family that seemed to own the place was there and didn't really seem to care that there was almost no food options on a Saturday night and instead seemed to be celebrating haven opened. Seems like they still have a lot to figure out and we will maybe try it again in a few months. I hope they...

I have known about Anoush'ella because they sometimes cater events at the Armenian Genocide Memorial on the Greenway Labyrinth Walks.
I, being part Armenian and lover of both Near Eastern, Middle Eastern, and Indian foods was curious about this Armenian-Lebanese fushion menu.
They offer breakfast (shashukah), lunch//snack/dinner options. I highly recommend the #5 Hot off the sides menu. The #5 is a what I call a "meze" bowl with ground lamb/ beef , smoked eggplant (if you like Baba Ganoush, Baigan Bartha you will like this), Labne which is a Middle Eastern/Near East style yogurt with pomegranate seeds and a dash of sumac powder. The bowl comes with a basket of pita/lavash. For a side it is very savoury and filling.
For a dessert or sweet snack is Ashta. Ashta traditionally resembles clotted cream but Anoush'ella makes this yummy treat with ricotta, honey, sliced bananas drizzled with honey.
What makes Anoush'ella unique is their drink list. Anoush'ella offers Armenian wine Keuch Origin which is a sparkling wine made in the champagne regional tradition.
Armenia is one of the earliest wine producing nations and rarely does one find Armenian wines on a restaurant wine list. Sadly, will have to wait for a date to pay for this because they don't serve it by glass that I know of and a bottle can set you back about $50 for a bottle.
But will definitely explore all food options and dessert options. Do try the baklava with Nutella and pistachio. So good.
Anoush'ella is conveniently located on Washington Street in the South End and is accessible by SL4/SL5 bus.
Anoush'ella is handicap accessible.

Read moreGreat fresh tasty food. Nice decor. Nice staff (owner is nice to customers rude to his employees. He so caught up in his anger he doesn't know customers are watching) I have eaten here 3 times. 2 out of 3 I have witnessed the owner(I think he is the owner acts like it) being very rude to employees who are learning as they go. If you go during lunch call order in. Long lines only one register😐. Today I called my order in. Went in long line. So I stand in line then notice across the room people are picking up orders. I was wrong😐. Got back in long line. A few minutes later an employee asked if I ordered motioned for me to come to the bar. The owner and a lady was messing with a register. The employee said excuse me but can I use the register to cash this customer out. The owner started yelling some broken English. The employee explained that I already ordered and my food was ready andI just needed to pay. Owner says very firmly Fine use it! Gave the employee a look that could kill. No regards to me standing there. Place is great with alot of potential just needs another register and more organization and owner (not sure if he is owner white hair guy) needs to learn how to maintain his cool. Hope they extend their...
