Local bakery with a small selection of classic pies, macarons, and pastries. On a serene Saturday morning stroll through JP, I stumbled upon this charming bakery. It had a cozy, small-town bakery vibe, and manning the counter was an elderly lady, whose skilled hands and warm smile hinted at years of perfecting the art of home-style baking. Since pies seemed to be their specialty, I opted for a small pecan pie along with an assortment of small pastries. The almond croissant was decent, but the pecan pie was exceptional. It was everything a classic pecan pie should be: not excessively sweet, with a moist filling wrapped in a perfectly baked crust. Some of my other favorites included the chocolate cupcake and the halva bomb. If you're in a mood for the comfort of traditional American pies and homemade pastries, Blue Frog is definitely worth a try.

Blue Frog never disappoints. There is always something delicious at the counter, or on their loaf shelves! The plain croissant was maybe a little less flaky than I expected but the flavor and texture were delicious. The cranberry scone had a perfect level of sweetness and tartness. I have had a variety of muffins and pastries here, all have been delicious. On my next visit I'll definitely be trying out a baguette and a donut! They only make donuts on the weekends.

Amazing homemade croissant! Flakey on the outside, buttery layers on the inside. Will definitely be back to try the coffee and some other pastries! PSA: $5 card minimum and there will be a line on weekends but it moves relatively quick. 2nd visit: Came back and tried the mushroom, onion and cheese quiche. It was great! The crust dough was a little crunchy but the filling was creamy and flavorful. Glad I came back!

I called a day ahead to see what time they were opened, a women told me at 7:am (as this was my first time going to this place). I was there at 7:10am today, when I got there (two customers were already coming out with items they bought) this person /staff came over and literally closed the door on our faces. He said “I’m not ready to serve people”. He had a customer paying for an item in the store and shut the door on us!!!

Told him that we were told they opened at 7:am, he replied “no we open at 7:30am” and closed the door.

Every customer that came out and the one that stayed in the store were white and this staff person shut the door on 3 Hispanics. Took our money to somewhere else and will not go ever into this place. And will make sure to tell others about my experience! I have never experienced this type of treatment in any establishment in JP; as I lived in this neighborhood for...

Worst customer service EVER.

Fourth of July they set special hours (closing 2 hours early). I arrive 5 minutes late, but the guy is still at the counter...he can see me saying all I need is one baguette. "No." He won't unlock the door.

Okay, you say, so they're strict with their hours. Their prerogative.

Well, I would agree, if it weren't for the fact that they routinely disregard their hours when it benefits them. Twice I have arrived during their normal hours to a locked door. The most recent visit, which prompted this review, the surly woman who often works the counter arrived and walked by me to open the door with no hello or apology for the wait. When I raised my complaint she ignored the question and said "what would you like." Deadpan and challenging.

I ordered my baguette. It will be my last one. Rudeness does not get rewarded...
