I'll start off by saying that my mom and I don't know Sichuan cuisine and aren't used to the tingly spiciness that it's known for. I was in the area and just wanted to have dinner with my mom. We couldn't decide where to go and I remembered my neighbor saying that she and her parents liked this restaurant. My mom and I ordered the Sezchuan Dandan Noodle, Cumin Beef, Mala Spicy Pot w Meat and Small Vegetable Basket. When we first got the Sezchuan Dandan Noodle my mom and I couldn't handle the spice level and we left most of it uneaten. The chef happened to come out and he noticed that it was mostly untouched and asked if there was something wrong right as the rest of our food was coming out. We said it was too spicy for us but that we could take it home. The chef decided right away to take everything back to the kitchen and remake everything to be a lot milder. He even came back out and asked me to taste the Dandan Noodle sauce before putting in the rest of the ingredients to see if it was mild enough for me. It was perfect and the other dishes that we got were also delicious. The chef came back out again to check that the we were enjoying our food. This experience showed that this place really cares about the taste of the food and customers' experiences. My mom and I will be back and we know now that next time we should ask if everything...
Read more*2024 Aug update: this restaurant changed the owner. Not sure when, but the current owner runs the restaurant very efficiently and cooks delicious dishes. After realizing this, my bf and I have been frequenting it like twice a week for three weeks now. They also have some unique yet authentic dishes that other Chinese restaurants don’t offer, so much more worthy of a visit now than before.
I have no problem with their dishes--in fact, their dishes taste absolutely delicious and authentic for Chinese food, which is why I give them three stars.
However, their slow serving speed is beyond imagination. We saw a kitchen staff came out to tell the table before us that they're going to be slow because there is only one chef working on a Saturday night. Finally, we had all of our dishes after more than 1 hour.
Getting their service is like pulling teeth too, so we eventually just got up toe fetch the to-go boxes ourselves and paid at the counter.
It's obvious that everyone in the restaurant is already working like crazy, but that can't deny the fact that this restaurant is extremely understaffed and has got some serious management issues. If this situation persists, dining-in here will always be a headache unless you don't care sitting around or...

Stopped by a couple times for quick lunches, and while they’re not as busy as it once was (especially with Mountain House around the corner), the food here still beats most Sichuan spots I’ve been in the city. Clean space, solid service, and no misses.
My favorites so far were the Braised pork elbow and the Beef brisket noodles. The pork elbow was like a warm, heartier version of the garlic pork appetizer—slightly fattier, but the chili flakes on the side added a sweet-spicy kick that balanced it perfectly. As for the noodles, the shoyu-style broth was light yet savory, with tender brisket and perfectly al dente noodles. Simple, comforting, and well-executed.
I also tried two lunch specials, both decent but with minor quirks. The potato grilled pork ribs donburi had well-seasoned ribs paired with braised vegetables—flavorful, though the bone cuts were a bit awkward (watch out for sharp edges). The "halibut rice" was misleading—no fish, just braised pork belly in a soy-BBQ sauce. Still tasty over rice.
The prices here aren’t exactly budget-friendly, but I would occasionally come back for that...
