if you just want quality coffee, no fancy syrups or experimental drinks, this is the spot for you.
i’m normally a black coffee or cortado kinda gal, but am interested in fun/house drinks when trying out a new spot. when i asked the owner (?) he made clear they don’t do that (it seemed as if me asking about those options was looked down upon…) nevertheless the coffee is good, and i enjoyed the americano.
i grabbed a hibiscus ice tea for my husband, and i appreciate the female baristas service, kindness and note on the tartness of the drink ahead of time. the recommended touch of simple syrup was perfect and he enjoyed his tea. she made the experience more enjoyable and i would still come back to try a cortado or affogato in the summer. But when I got coffee there I was really confused by the way they were pricing their iced drinks - both the 12 oz iced latte AND the 16 oz iced latte both have the same amount of espresso. If you want more espresso in the 16 oz it's an upcharge of $2.50. I'm always willing to pay for an extra shot, but I've never come across a place where the bigger size of a drink does not automatically have more espresso. It just doesn't make sense. It's disappointing because I don't want to feel like I'm paying more for a 16 oz coffee and not actually getting what I paid for.
