I just left this location. I was beyond disappointed in the service that was just rendered. I ordered a Blended Caffe Latte for the first time, the consistency was really loose and it was extremely bitter. I approached an employee (Jenna) asking if I could trade this one in for another beverage. I only took one sip of the drink and she became EXTREMELY rude. She rolled her eyes and said “if it’s not sweet just add sugar to it” I again asked if I could just have another drink and I’ll pay for it. I placed the drink on the counter and she knocked it over, never apologized and it spilled around around the area I was standing in. She didn’t acknowledge what she had done. She snatched a cup for the holder and aggressively began making my replacement drink. I approached another worker and told them what I was ordering and I would like to PAY for my replacement drink. Jenna yells from the espresso machine “I SAID YOU’RE ALL SET,” I calmly asked to speak with the manager and to my surprise she was the manger! It’s saddens me that a group of young passionate individuals are subjected to work for such an ineffective leader. They were embarrassed by her behavior and apologized numerous times, which she never did. My company usually orders from here and hold interviews at this location. We will no longer be doing so. My advice is to provide immediate coaching to her, and/or re-consider Jenna leading your team. I am beyond upset with this interaction and I’ve already spoken with my team to discontinue ordering from this store. I will be following up with the Store Manager with...
Read moreSo I decided to go to this Cafe Nero to wait for my friend. I had some studying do as well. So I headed to the bathroom and then figured I would place my order. My mistake. I was stopped and told this is not a public bathroom. Her mistake. I replied I planned to use the bathroom then place my order if that was okay with her. Once I did that headed over to the counter to figure out what I wanted. As I went to placed my order she told me " I didn't need to order anything if I just wanted to use the bathroom." Her second mistake. I told her what I wanted and then told her that I had allergies. She asked what they were I listed them. When I asked what her recommendation was she said "NOTHING" Her Third mistake .Nobody at any previous Cafe Nero has ever said that to me. I have never had a problem or had a an allergic reaction to any food at a Cafe Nero before. I finally order something, got my drink and tried to focus on my studying. I have never felt so unwelcomed as a paying customer. I never had someone assume my motives for spending my hard earned money and try to deny me service based on my allergies. I can understand her fears about the allergies given the attention it has received lately. However the rest her behavior left a bad taste in my mouth but I won't questions her motives. I will leave that to her.The last time I was this uncomfortable someone called me the N word. I hope I never encounter this type of behavior in a...
Read moreStaff were completely rude. Shockingly rude. I asked for a latte paid for it and then asked for the code to the restroom. The guy working at the counter took my drink back from my hand and said he would hold it until I came back. Come again?? Also, I made it clear my order was dine in (ordered one of their mediocre quiche looking thing) and he gave me a paper cup when everyone else was given mugs. I went up to the counter and the other, just as unfriendly, barista shrugs and pours my drink into a mug. Not sure this is relevant, but the man who took my coffee away from me seemed to have mustered enough decency to ask a man before me “how can I help you, sir?” so I’m kind of thinking he is sees himself as a NYC club bouncer who decides who fits the look, age, gender of the cafe and who doesn’t. Honey pie, it’s a chain coffee shop. Get over yourself. But shame on the managers who let those two inept baristas get away with it. SHRUGGING at a customer is never okay. And you don’t put your hands on someone’s drink after they’ve paid for it and you’ve given it to them. Treat everyone the same. ...
