I love Cava! I was originally a little cautious to go when they opened up. I live right next door and was going to other restaurants where I was comfortable with the food selection and had a good relationship with the staff. Luckily, my girlfriend convinced me to go one day a few months ago. Being gluten intolerant, I got a bowl. The staff made it super easy to understand what I was getting, and the little menu made it clear what I could and couldn’t eat. I LOVED it! Cava quickly became my favorite place to eat. The staff, especially Anthony, Francis, and Edwin, make me feel right at home. They are always happy and helpful, even during the lunch rush. Aside from the great food and people, Cava has FOR SURE the best drink selection. I’m not a fan of sugary drinks, and Cava always has a great selection of sweetened and unsweetened iced teas that I can mix to get a great flavor without too much sugar. Also a huge fan that Cava will be switching to paper straws. Thanks for doing the right thing! Here’s what I think is the best bowl: — Half Supergreens Half White Rice Skip Dips (one harissa if you want) Half Lamb Meatballs Half Braised Lamb Cabbage Tomatoes w/ Onions Radishes(bring them back!! :)) Double Lettuce Greek Sriracha Dressing — Thank you for being such a...
Read moreOur office just moved to Back Bay and CAVA was on our shortlist of healthy and hopefully delicious places to try for lunch.
My colleague, Neil, and I went there today and were helped by Raykayla, who is, essentially, the bomb dot com. So much so, that I had to reach over and elbow-bump her for her excellent assistance (she was wearing food prep gloves, so we elbow-bumped in lieu of the more traditional fist-bump).
I had the Greens+Grains (baby spinach and black lentils) bowl filled with all manner of flavorful goodness. I chose crazy feta (srsly), harissa, and tzatziki, with spicy lamb meatballs and falafel, a slew of toppings like kalamata olives (#duh), cabbage slaw, roasted tomatoes, white bean salad, and pickled onions.
I also went with the green harissa dressing because it showed two spicy peppers next to it, and I wanted to embrace the spice.
All in, it was a $10 heavy bowl of Greek & Mediterranean deliciousness, dished up by a delightful server who added insight and fun into our...
Read moreBeware of this location: they closed almost an hour early. I ordered food for pick up, out of courtesy because I don’t order to stay within the last hour of service. It’s just principle. So I order to pick up an hour before close. I show up, and the entire bar has been cleared, all meats and grains put away, and I was told they “have no food”. An hour before closing. I understand wanting to close service on time, but to be cleaned up and ready to leave that far in advance is just unacceptable. Not only that, but one of the employees was complaining because if they made my order she “won’t have enough food to take home for my brother”. Ridiculous. The only person on this entire team worth having a job is Maldani. He was outrageously apologetic and tried to right the situation, with over the top kindness. Overall though, bad location, don’t spend...
