went to El Barrio for lunch with a few of my co-workers and used the kiosk to place my order. I initially thought I ordered the frozen passion fruit drink I usually always get from there however, I said this drink will do. I usually don’t look at my drinks for some odd reason but, this particular drink did because I seen some little black particles floating inside. I then shook the drink again to make sure I was not seeing things. I showed my co-worker after realizing it was two baby ants in the drink with a couple of other little things in there. I went up to the desk to address it with the lady who just looked at me as if I had 3 heads. I said I would like to order a different drink. The young lady looked at her colleague who said in Spanish “she will have to pay the difference”. I don’t mind paying the difference if this was a situation. The thing is I should have been comped and refunded. This is so unsanitary and had me questioning if I’d be eating ants out of the birria tacos I ordered with the drink. I got to work completely mad as I couldn’t even eat the food I ordered out of disgust. There was no sympathy, empathy, nothing. The girl offered me a refund after asking for a manager. I said is the manager here today. The young lady stated “he’s not here all the time or for long periods of time” . I said oh wow so if something had gone completely wrong who would help? she had no answers. The other worker in there asked me to leave the drink with them. I said absolutely NOT. I am going to call the department health division of the inspection so service department. They did not seem to care. I am all set with El Barrio. They have to focus on customer service skills as well as handling situations better.

I wish I wasn’t being so greedy and got to take a picture before… I’ve tried birria tacos from many places in Boston and was always left unsatisfied. Today I tried birria tacos from El Barrio on my lunch break and this by far has been the most satisfaction I’ve had eating them. The meat was well portioned, it had lots of flavor, everything about them were good. I don’t even eat onions and didn’t even mind them on my tacos (I forgot to request no onions). They were delicious!! Would highly recommend. I can’t wait to try the nachos next 👌🏽

Very friendly staff, well decorated and clean place. The food is also good, I came here around 10 pm to grab something to eat because I had a family emergency at the hospital and wanted something to eat other than the snacks the hospital has at this time of the night. Empanadas, Steak burrito and 3 Leches for dessert made our dinner and our stay at the hospital less dreadful. Highly recommend this place.

They totally messed my order up! Shrimp taco, was smaller then the palm of my hand! Birrias Trio I ordered it with no cheese and onion and guess what? Cheese and onion everywhere! I’m allergic to dairy! The salsa I order was not the right ratio to the chips I had! None of their food is authentic! Some kid who went to college probably made this! I could have called and they probably would have fixed it but I just ended up throwing the food away! Also I ordered and paid online, once I got there to pick my food up they were convinced I didn’t pay for my order and they tried making me pay for it twice! And I would have given them less then half star but can’t cause it wouldn’t let me post the review without given...

It was a 1st time customer. I ordered 3 chicken tacos They were dry and little flavor. I also ordered 2 beef empanadas which I was looking forward to those and I tore the 1st one apart to eat and it was nothing in it. So I tried the other empanada and that to was empty. How do you make and sell empanadas with no filling. I called and explained the situation. They asked if I had my receipt and what time I came in. I told her and she said if I come in They will give me 2 free empanadas. FREE???? I ended up paying for hollow empanadas. I will not be returning to that establishment again for food. I gave 2 stars because the hollow empanadas dough was light, flaky and buttery good. Other then that it would...
