Overall: The room was spacious, and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. Being at the pool was great, but multiple issues with accessing the pool would make us hesitate to book again. For conventions, it seems like a great hotel; if you're booking for the pool, consider the Colonnade instead.
Staff: The staff at the Omni Hotel were exceptionally kind and professional. Their assistance exceeded all expectations, and we couldn't have asked for a more helpful team during our stay.
Location: The location is great if you’re attending a convention or visiting the Seaport, as many restaurants are within walking distance. However, the area is somewhat industrial, and parts of the walk to Seaport restaurants are through fairly uninspiring areas. Noise from nearby highways and the airport is noticeable, especially during certain hours.
Pool: If you’re staying at this hotel, there's a good chance the pool factored into your decision. The pros of the pool: it’s a lovely outdoor pool and a rarity for a hotel in Boston during the summer. The pool staff couldn’t be nicer or more helpful. The pool is located next to the Lifted Bar, which makes it easy to get drinks and food. However, a major con is how the pool access is currently managed.
Guests can make one reservation for a 2h45m block each day; at the end of each cycle, everyone is asked to leave the pool, and the area gets cleaned. For example, if you have a 7 a.m. reservation, you can arrive, get a wristband, and receive two deck chairs. At 9:45 a.m., staff ask everyone to leave, and from 9:45-10 a.m., the custodial staff cleans up for the next cycle. However, if you want to use the pool again at 10 a.m. or later, you’re not guaranteed a chair, and the hotel provides a 30-minute grace period for reservations. There isn’t a written waitlist, so it was recommended to line up starting around 9:45 a.m.-10:00 a.m. to guarantee a spot, with no option to wait elsewhere. Near the start of each “cycle,” the pool corridor would fill with 20-50 people and their pool gear and felt more like an airport gate during boarding than a luxury hotel. The pool attendants, who had no role in creating this policy, fielded constant complaints but did so with commendable kindness and patience.
Also: We were told we couldn't make pool reservations before checking in. However, after checking in, most pool reservations were already taken and could only secure one at 10 a.m. on the day of our checkout, with checkout at 11:00 a.m.. As the main reason we stayed at this hotel was to use the pool, I spent over 2 hours queuing during our 48-hour weekend stay.
Once we were at the pool, we had a great experience each time. The views and water temperature were excellent, and the Lifted Bar staff were efficient and friendly. However, this system clearly doesn’t work well. We've never queued for a hotel pool before or since. If a system like this is needed (since the hotel occupancy is 1000 and the pool deck capacity is ~100), I would recommend shortening the grace period for reservations, implementing a written waitlist so guests don't have to wait in the pool area, and providing a storage area on the pool deck for those without chairs to store their belongings. Overall, pool access is an area where the guest experience could be significantly improved.
** Noise: The hotel is near highways and the airport, resulting in significant noise from traffic and airplanes, which could be problematic for light sleepers.
**Conclusion: A lovely hotel with great rooms, staff, and pool, but the current pool access policy needs significant improvement. If the pool is your main priority, consider other hotels with outdoor pools in the area, such as the Colonnade. Overall, we rated this 2 stars because the pool was our main reason for selecting this hotel, and though it was great once you were there, it turned out to be a major logistical headache to access. With a revised pool policy, it could easily...
Read moreFull story: I had a birthday party planned for my grandma but I wanted to buy a suit on black Friday so I wanted to book a 2 night stay. This event was the first time my fiance was to meet my extended family since people were coming from as far as Florida. When looking for the right hotel the only thing I needed was an upgraded tub. Doesn't sound like much but my wife to be is an anxious person and was nervous about going and she was tempted to stay behind I offered to find her a nice tub so she could have a long bath on both nights complete with bath bombs oils and salt. That way she could come back to the hotel and relax and get ready for the next day. When I looked up this hotel I noticed the nice tub posted on the website. It was a suite and I was comfortable spending the extra money so my lady can relax and feel good about the 3 hour drive and the massive amount of people she was going to see (this girl was raised in a town that only has about 100 people in it and one small town cop) so as you can imagine this was a big step for us. She agrees to go but after looking at the website pics mind you each room has 3 pictures max. So I call and ask questions get a nice lady with a thick accent (she understood me and I understood her clearly) I asked about rooms with the detached tub. She said their junior sweet has them as well. I say perfect I'll call back after I talk with her and book the room. Hang up confirm with my lady about the room and she was all for it. I call back and get a guy this time. I ask the same question 4 times to confirm this tub is in the room and detached because it's the main reason for booking the hotel. He books the room and I'm excited and so is she. We get up at 5 am to leave for Boston 3 hour drive. We shop all day get to the hotel around 9 park walk in with too many bags to carry I'm beat and I just wanna relax and she's ready for her tub. Check in go up to the room I walk past the bathroom just because I knew in the back of my head it was going to be wrong and I don't wanna carry bags anymore. I set my stuff down turn on the lights and walk into the bathroom with my lady right behind me. As expected no tub. Grab all my stuff go downstairs and talk with the front desk. I'm nice about it as my fiance was once a receptionist for an upscale hotel. I explained the situation and she said the only thing she can do is downsidze the room and get a worse tub then wanted. After some back and forth. (Mind you I am completely cordial and polite as my lady is standing right behind me and I'm to tired to make a scene. I look to talk with my lady after the receptionist explain the downgrade. I look back and the receptionist is now basically ignoring us. I walk away to try to find another hotel and of course everything was completely booked. Paid roughly $1,000 for an upgraded suite and got nothing I asked for. Moral of the story is if you actually need something from the hotel make sure you call and confirm 6 times to make sure they get it right.
Update from management: Dear Michael,
I sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding regarding your room reservation. I understand how frustrating it must have been to confirm the presence of a tub multiple times, only to find that it wasn’t in the room upon arrival. This is certainly not the experience we strive to provide, and I regret that we couldn’t offer a more suitable solution at the time.
To avoid such situations in the future, I recommend contacting us directly before booking to ensure availability of rooms with bathtubs, as these are limited. I completely understand your disappointment and truly appreciate your feedback.
We value your comments and hope you’ll consider giving us another chance to provide the experience you were expecting.
Sincerely,
Victoria Payne Manager, Front Office

Read moreFor what I paid and the hype of this place is a huge let down, to start we called probably two weeks in advance to get reservations for dinner and when we left a callback number no one called us back so when we got the room service they got the order wrong and instead of 30 minutes it took them 2 hours and when they sent up my drinks they were flat so instead of just getting room service and having dinner, I had to wait about two hours just to enjoy a meal separately from the drinks I ordered with it. The shower water pressure was terrible. The water was cold. And there was no conditioner and the body wash dispenser was broken so it was a nightmare trying to get any to wash your body. The luxury sink by the vanity didn’t drain water so you couldn’t even brush your teeth, it would overflow so I had to brush my teeth in the shower.
Overall, I have stayed at many hotels and this one is by far the worst hotel I have stayed at in terms of luxury and amenities. I think it’s subpar at best The conditions of the lobby are nice at first glance yet filled with random wanderers from the street sitting on the lobby floor. Apart from that the rooms are small and the pleasantries within them are few to none in comparison to what you experience at the beginning of walking in. From my time here I honestly think if you’re going to book a place I would book something like the court yard Or one of the Marriotts but at least with either one of those hotels you’re going to get what you paid for, mind you this booking was for a engagement proposal so all in all, it was one of the worst experiences you could imagine for such an occasion.
Second, this is me adding a second half of the review after talking with customer service and their support team about my stay I was put on hold by three different people And they all tried to minimize my concerns and make it seem as if this review was only about the food and drink that was the issue and proceeded to take $16 off the entirety of the order Let it be noted that if you order room service and you grab 2 6$ dollar items and $8 dollar item Does the end after taxes and the fees they add on and the room service fee that you’re gonna be paying $50? For those items mind you just from downstairs to upstairs And that was one of the concerns. The majority of the charges are the fees that they give you so I’m so glad that they took off my $16 for the order, but still proceeded to charge me with the most expensive parts of my order Which would be their additives of charges
In conclusion, if you stay here and you do not have a good experience and you vocalize your concerns, it seems to be the minimize and And completely disregard you so if you’re looking for accommodation and reasonability, I would not stay here. FYI, their parking is a nightmare. In addition I have never once ever stayed in the hotel where the parking was not free. At a minimum they could’ve validated my parking.witch was 80$!!!!!!!!!!! Who in their right mind charges 80$$ for over night parking when the valet was $60, but the overnight parking is supposed to be 40 $
We’ll see if this review changes if someone from their team actually contacts and reaches out but as of right now it’s doubtful. To...
