I'm thrilled to share my exceptional experience at Rosa Mexicano in Boston, a hidden gem that I stumbled upon while working at an event nearby. As a vegetarian, I'm always on the lookout for restaurants that cater to my dietary preferences, and Rosa Mexicano exceeded my expectations in every way. The menu is a love letter to vegetarian cuisine, with a plethora of delicious options that showcase the richness and diversity of Mexican flavors. I was spoiled for choice, but ended up trying the wet burrito, nachos, and quesadilla - all of which were absolutely fantastic. The flavors were incredibly authentic, with each dish bursting with the bold, vibrant flavors of Mexico. The quality of the ingredients was top-notch, with fresh, seasonal produce and creative combinations that elevated each dish to new heights. But what truly sets Rosa Mexicano apart is the atmosphere. The moment I stepped inside, I was struck by the lively and vibrant decor, which transported me to the sun-kissed streets of Mexico. The energy was electric, with a warm and welcoming vibe that made me feel right at home. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who were knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations. They checked in regularly to ensure that my meal was nothing short of perfect, and were always happy to accommodate my requests. One of the things that impressed me most about Rosa Mexicano was the attention to detail. From the colorful table runners to the vibrant artwork on the walls, every aspect of the restaurant was carefully curated to create an immersive dining experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming, with a genuine passion for Mexican cuisine that shone through in every interaction. If you're in Boston and looking for a restaurant that serves up delicious Mexican fare with a vegetarian twist, look no further than Rosa Mexicano. This place is a must-visit for anyone who loves Mexican cuisine, and a paradise for vegetarians who are tired of the same old options. I highly recommend giving this place a try - you won't be disappointed! Rating Breakdown: Food: 5/5 stars Service: 5/5 stars Atmosphere: 5/5 stars Value: 5/5 stars Recommendation: Don't miss the wet burrito, nachos, and quesadilla - they're all must-try dishes for vegetarians! And be sure to ask your server for recommendations - they're happy to help you navigate the menu and find the perfect dish for your taste buds.

Even though this is a chain restaurant, one walks into a colorful space with a vibrant decor and an uplifting vibe. I went there recently (first visit), late on a very warm summer’s evening and greatly enjoyed the outdoor ambiance. The fresh and light ocean breeze with all the hustle bustle that the Seaport district offers, made it for a very pleasant experience. I was seated promptly, but should point out just like someone else has noted here, it was a bit unusual for the maitre d to be wiping off the menus before handing them to patrons. My server, Urbi, could not have been nicer. She was very cheerful and friendly and suggested the appetizer that turned out to be very delicious. The Camarones Diablos is a savory plate of crispy shrimp (without the tails), in a chile sauce and avocado dressing. This was definitely my favorite. For the entree I went with the Tampiquena, which is a very hearty dish of Angus strip steak, cheese enchilada, refried beans, guacamole and a number of other mixed vegetables and sauces, served with corn tortillas . This dish would have been good for two people to share, at least in my case. It felt a tad bit bland, most likely because they had brought it out together with the appetizer and I asked them to hold it till I was ready. That made it a bit lukewarm and perhaps caused it to taste a bit flat. Overall, if you would like to experience decent Mexican food in a great setting, this place would be a good choice.

My friends and I stopped by Rosa Mexicano in Boston Seaport after a boat cruise, it was conveniently within walking distance, which made it an easy choice. We got there around 10pm (they close at 11), and thankfully they were still seating and serving. Our server, Yasmina, was friendly and mostly attentive. That said, since it was close to closing time, the staff seemed to be in clean-up mode, so it took a little while to get her attention when we needed something. I ordered a frozen guava margarita, which was disappointing, it tasted more like grapefruit than guava, and definitely wasn’t what I was expecting. I also got the Birria Quesatacos. Flavor wise they were okay, but there were tough, big pieces of meat that made them hard to chew, and the birria sauce lacked flavor. One nice highlight of the night was that we were celebrating a friend’s birthday, and the staff brought out a complimentary birthday treat and sang to her (upon request). It was a thoughtful touch and much appreciated. Overall, Rosa Mexicano has a fun vibe and a great location for late-night eats in the Seaport. I loved the overall pink aesthetic as pink is my favorite color, but for me, the food and drinks fell a bit short.

From the moment we arrived, our experience at Rosa Mexicano was nothing short of unacceptable. We were told there would be a 25-minute wait for a table of four, no problem. We’d heard good things and were willing to wait. Once we received a text that our table was ready, we returned five minutes later and checked in with the host, Evelin, who told us it would be just another two minutes. Fine; we waited patiently right in front of the hostess stand for an additional 15 minutes before checking in again.

To our shock, Evelin then claimed they had released our table because we were “20 minutes late.” That is a flat-out lie. We had been sitting visibly in front of her the entire time, and had already checked in with her. We could literally see open tables from where we were sitting. This wasn't a mix-up. This was either incompetence or blatant disregard for us as guests.

To make matters worse, when I asked for the hostess’s name to make note the incident, a male host seemingly intentionally gave me a false name. Only after speaking to a plainclothes manager did I get the correct information. This lack of transparency and basic professionalism is unacceptable in any hospitality setting.

Unfortunately, the service issues didn’t stop at the front. Once we were finally seated, we ordered the Parrillada for the table, which took far too long to arrive. During that wait, Evelin walked past our table multiple times and actually shot us dirty looks. I still have no idea why we were being treated this way, but the message was clear: we were not welcome.

When the food finally arrived, it was barely warm. The meats, ordered medium, came out overcooked, dry, and severely under-seasoned. The only decent items were the shrimp and the tuna ceviche, though the ceviche leaned way too heavily on mango. The margarita pitcher was fine, but at this point, I suppose that’s the bare minimum.

Our server was pleasant, although not particularly attentive but in comparison to the rest of the experience, he was the least of our concerns. When it came time to pay, the bill reflected three pitchers when we had only ordered one. Thankfully, this was corrected quickly, but it was just one more example of how poorly this restaurant is run.

This visit was a complete failure from beginning to end. I have zero interest in returning, and I absolutely would not recommend Rosa Mexicano to anyone. Unless you enjoy being disrespected, lied to, and served cold, overpriced food — do yourself a favor and go literally...

We had a reservation for a party of 10, we were seated in the bar area and assigned a waitress right away, Gavie(sp?). She took drink orders from one side of the table and left. A bartender ended up walking by and we were able to finish placing the order 10-15 minutes later. After drinks arrived, we promptly placed our food order and kept it simple, 3 of the same appetizers and 3 orders of their large plates that feed multiple people for the table. We spent the next 20 mins or so waiting for our waitress to come by, table full of empty cups, plates etc. We ended up having to go ask that same bartender if she could help us get refills and she did. Appetizers arrived and so did part of main course, very shortly after. They placed the rice and beans and other sides on the table but the meat dishes only came several minutes later, multiple people in our table were eating rice and beans on tortillas since they were hungry and tired of waiting. My partner and I are vegetarian so we ordered a separate side of rice, beans and plantains which were never brought with the rest of the food. I sat there for another round of several minutes waiting my rice and beans while everyone ate. I watched our waitress tend to other tables in our area, some newly seated, get their drinks orders, ask about their experience but continue to pass us by over and over again. We ended up flagging down the GM, Barry, and told him our initial concerns. He was short and dismissive, but sent Vicki to our table which was the best thing that happened all night so I guess I have him to thank for that. Vicki Gomes and the bartender (blonde girl - I apologize I didn’t get her name) were the only ones that truly showed any care and provided the vast majority of service to our party. It’s important to mention that not only they helped us, they did it quickly and were incredibly kind about it. We were celebrating a birthday and ordered additional tres leches cakes for the table, they came out, sang and left the deserts. The cherry on top, or should I say the hairy on top, was finding not 1 but 3 pieces of hair on one of the cakes. Reading through the 1 stars reviews and seeing the sheer amount of people who placed orders they never got, were mistreated by staff or even found foreign things in their food is appalling, but after our experience, not shocking. The 2 stars I’m giving are for Vicki and the bartender. Vicki, you are amazing and I hope this business understand the significant value you bring and compensates you...
