I am still having serious cravings for Mexican food after coming back from vacation at the Riviera Maya almost 4 weeks ago. So to satisfy my fish taco cravings, I searched for the nearest (from my place of work) Mexican restaurant that has fish tacos in their menu. I found one which is just about 5 mins. away and this was Taqueria Casa Real or Casa Real on the front store located on Dorchester Ave. The place is tiny but manage to have at least 6 tables for 2 and a counter-like seats at the front window. It has a nice Mexican/Mayan decor which adds to its ambiance. I just ordered the fish tacos (one order consists of 3 tacos for $6.00) and a side of Nachos with salsa & guacamole for $3.50). It took me a few minutes before I got my fish so I knew that it was being fried. And it was worth the wait. The fish taco had guacamole as a base with cabbages on it. We were also given pico de gallo which when we poured on the taco added more flavor to it. Though it wasn't the kind of fish taco that I had in Tulum, Mexico (from a restaurant called "Maya Salvaje Tulum"), Casa Real's version is good enough and can stand on its own . The nachos with salsa and guacamole was also good. Service was courteous, fast (based on my observations from other people who ordered other foods) and the guys were attentive enough and appreciate the tips that you give them. Hubby and I are already planning to go back there so we could try their other dishes. Prices are reasonable and affordable. This place is worth a try...
