The Banshee — Restaurant in Boston

Inside the bar was the stereotypical "bar crowd": loud, exuberant and a bit obnoxious. So my adult family opted to go outside, where it was perfect! Nice ambiance with the fans, music and a few TVs. Quiet enough for conversation and laughs. The food was excellent. All 4 people in my party loved their entree's. I had the blackened chicken sandwich and it was one of the best chicken sandwiches I'd ever eaten, period. The fries are amazing here. Big, thick-cut pub fries with just the right amount of seasoning. The steak bits they use in several of their dishes were outstanding too. We all stuck with beer, and it was all served really cold, draft or bottle.

I wish they provided more fries with their entrees. I'd estimate maybe 10-15 total fries per dish served. It was slim enough that we were forced into buying an extra side of fries for $7. Good for them, but not for hungry customers. We all also thought the nachos were serviceable but nothing great.

Overall, this is a place I would love to revisit. The food was really good and reasonably priced, and the service was friendly and funny. I do highly recommend going outside though if you don't want to don't with...

The downstairs bar is the best spot for casual dinner/drinks, with the best bartenders around. Not to mention several tv's with any sports game your heart could desire.

Upstairs boasts a private event space that is cozy and quaint and fits 40 people comfortably (but up to 60 if you don't mind squeezing). You have your own private bathroom, bar, multiple tv's, and access to the sound system where you can stream from Spotify. The catering menu is fairly priced, decently sized, and absolutely delicious. I ordered full sized platters and had TONS of leftovers to take home from a crowd of 40 people. The staff ensured everything went off without a hitch -- Ray was AWESOME and quick at communicating back and forth and answering any questions I had -- and had the space clean and ready for my arrival. I went to this bar with 9 friends on Wednesday (12/11/2024). They were buying drinks and left a tip despite the bartender was not being nice to us. When it was my turn to pay, the bartender said to me and to another friend that we were "annoying" because we wanted to pay separately. We found the comment, the bartender's attitude and the way she was treating us very rude and impolite. We decided not to tip her because of the awful "service" received. After this, she decided not to serve drinks anymore to my group of friends (potentially losing 100 dollars because we had the intention of ordering at least 15 more beers).
