We are Afternoon Tea enthusiasts and frequent them wherever we are in the world. The Afternoon Tea at the Trifecta at the new Four Seasons in Boston was among the best we have been to.
Everything about it was very high quality. The tea itself was tasty and came very hot and in a very cool tea pot/cup combo. They offer these specialty teas which are paired with liqueur for a nice twist. The sandwiches were also unique twists on the Tea typical finger sandwiches with things like egg and truffle, chicken curry crusty and this pimento and pretzel mini sandwich that was amazingly tasty. The scones are not warm however they were still very fresh and soft and also very tasty. And lastly the desserts was an amazing assortment. We loved every part of it. And the ambience and decor also were quite elegant but relaxed enough that you could enjoy just sitting leisurely. Last but not least the service was excellent in particular our waitress whom was friendly and highly responsive.
The few minor downsides were: that it is at the new 1 Dalton Place skyscraper which meant getting to it a challenge and parking was expensive and also it is not catered to kids directly. They do charge a child rate which is about $25 vs the $60 per adult which takes the edge off but unfortunately our kids, whom are very good about trying new things, did not find much they liked except the scones. However I believe it is difficult to satisfy a sophisticated adult palette and child in the same setting. (Places that the kids like are usually horrible for the adults). To their credit, the waitress did give some alternatives to the kids (hot chocolate, extra scones sparking apple cider, sugar sticks) which the kids loved.
If you are new to Afternoon Tea $60/adult may seem a bit high but it is about in the middle of the pack when it comes to costs which we were surprised by. For a fancy hotel like that which rooms cost $500+ per night we were expecting it to be more expensive but it is very reasonable considering. (Perhaps it is in pandemic pricing??)
All in all we had an excellent experience and would highly recommend it to anybody seeking a gourmet culinary...
Read moreI visited Trifecta for a solo lunch. I purchased the Afternoon Tea experience, of which didn’t disappoint. From the time I walked in, staff was so pleasant and accommodating; especially my main server, Divian. She was kind, patient, and had such a pleasant demeanor. Within minutes of me being seated, she offered me a glass of champagne & served a Foie Gras Ganache w/ Caramelized Banana. Minutes following, she brought out the tea I selected: Lady Blue Earl Grey, w/ a supplement of paired liquor that was selected by staff to compliment the tea of my choosing. I’ve never had tea w/ liquor, but it was a very satisfying pair. The serve ware was amazing as well. When the tiered plates were brought out, it was explained what each small dish was. They were kind enough to inquire about allergies and dietary restrictions before bringing the food out. Everything was delicate, and immaculate.
My favorites per tier:
Top: Scones w/ orange marmalade Savory: Deviled Egg, Roast Turkey Dessert: ALL OF THEM! ❤️
I loved having Divian as my server! She made my first dining experience in Boston very pleasurable. She was also informative of the cocktails that are served at Trifecta in the evening....
Read moreFrom a classy cocktail bar to a fancy afternoon tea lounge, Trifecta surely knows how to be the best in each category. I recently had the opportunity to experience both and had a wonderful time on both occasions.
During the night, their curated selection of cocktails come in a booklet with detailed explanations and photos. I've tried a few with a charcuterie board, and everything was delicious.
Afternoon tea experience was also the best I've had in Boston. Not only were the quality of the food sublime, but also the tea and food came in elegant pots and plates. Some of my favorites were foie gras choux, vanilla bean scones, deviled egg, prosciutto sandwich, and raspberry profiterole. I also liked that their tea selections are paired with flavored alcoholic drinks which added unique notes to the tea.
Whether you're looking to celebrate a special occasion or are just looking for a good time, I would highly recommend trying Trifecta. It comes at a hefty price tag, but the experience here will certainly leave...
