So I wrote them a nicer review than I should have on yelp. But they decided to lie on the internet and stick to their guns instead of just apologizing.
My friends and I went in because of a promotion ($5 dollar margaritas) asked the waitress about the promotion who let us know margaritas were five dollars. So we asked for margaritas since she had just confirmed to us the price and we obviously had just told her we had come in for the five dollar margaritas. When the check came all the margaritas were 14 dollars and they claimed we hadn't specified that we wanted the promotion ones. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but my friend recently reviewed them here and they made it clear in their response that they knew what they were doing.
We made it very clear we had come in for the five dollar margaritas so right off the bat they should have known and it is just bad service for them to pretend we wanted something else. The excuse in their response here is that we pointed at their "mango margarita" menu item which is 14 dollars not five. It is the only margarita drink on their menu so it seems natural to assume that was the drink on promotion. We weren't sure though so we asked the waitress to make sure and she told us margaritas were five dollars. Seems pretty unambiguous at this point. But obviously not to them...
Either way they are pretending that it is "impolite" to make sure their customers understand their prices. So yeah you decide if that's the kind of service you want. Pretty sure they intentionally scammed us.
For a review of the rest of the experience: overall not bad, drinks were good and the five dollar promotion would have made it very enjoyable. We ordered fried calamari which was good but had fewer pieces of calamari than dollars we paid for it, so kind of disappointing. There are lots of places in Boston that serve similar food at much lower prices though so easy to see why it was mostly empty on a Friday night.
Edit: Also just want to point out that there yelp rating (3) is a full star difference than their google rating (4.1). Read through some of the five star reviews here and judge for yourself why...
Read moreMy name is Mia, and I am Arnaud's wife, whose review you may have read below. I too felt sick—experiencing a severe headache and nausea—the day after our meal, which only confirms our concerns.
Arnaud has a particularly sensitive reaction to food quality, evidenced by past experiences where he’s had to discard meals. In one instance at a Thai restaurant, he saw a rat, and another time at a small Chinese restaurant, the food made him feel ill almost immediately. When he reacts like this, it typically indicates a serious issue with the food.
Aside from our concerns about the freshness of the food, which can occasionally be an issue anywhere, what truly suprised and disappointed us was the way our concerns were handled. Being called liars when we were simply expressing our dissatisfaction was incredibly unprofessional and RUDE. We showed a photo of the aftermath merely to be believed, not to cause a scene.
It makes no sense for someone to induce vomiting just to get a free meal. There is nothing logical about this.
We moved to a quieter part of the restaurant because our baby was crying, and we wanted to be considerate of other customers, not because we were unhappy with our seating or something else.
Your accusation that we were seeking a free meal was offensive and baseless. Please consider with your CONSCIENCE what kind of food you are actually serving, particularly because the prices do not seem to reflect the standard of the food served. Also, using cheap disposable chopsticks could save you some money but really lowers the overall impression of your restaurant.
Anyways, if you care about your health and mood, please avoid this place. We've never seen such a rude owner, and the staff's attitude...

(Edit: modified to clarify that we ordered the only margarita listed on the menu & included the original restaurant response as it seemed to disappear.)
Simply put, they took advantage of the implication that the only margarita on the menu was the discounted margarita and misled us so that they could overcharge us.
My party and I came in for the $5 margarita special advertised on the board outside, asked our server if they were serving $5 margaritas, got confirmation that they were and then ordered the only margaritas shown on the menu. We then got a very unpleasant surprise when the bill arrived, as we were charged $70 for 5 margaritas. No apology or fix was made when we brought this to their attention. They completely misrepresented what we were ordering even though we made it clear and specifically told them we came in for the $5 margaritas. Really disappointed and angry that we were ripped...
