Big T's is a great Mexican restaurant in the heart of downtown Boulder City and my wife and I love how it's more of a really fun bar that also happens to serve really good food too, than anything. 'T' or Tony and his daughter are long time residents of this charming town and they've done an amazing job of making this a great local hang out complete with live music on Thursday's, karaoke on Friday and Saturday after 8pm and still feel warm and inviting to out of town visitors. As you would guess, they do serve delicious margaritas but they do also have a full bar complete with beers on tap, a good selection of wine and for me personally, an even better top shelf lined with really find bourbons, ryes and other whiskeys. In fact, on our most recent visit, our bartender recommended a new one to me, RD One and it was amazing! As far as food goes, their chips are true, restaurant style freshly made and not out of the bag type and their salsa is super tasty especially if you like it hot and spicy! We always enjoy their Asada Tots and BYO quesadillas to get started and more times than not, that's about where we end being that we're typically full up by then. But, we have had their carne asada burrito and enchiladas in the past and both were awesome. Granted, none of the food is 'authentic taqueria style' Mexican if that's what you prefer but in a way, that's what I like about it. All of it is fresh and made with a flare of it's own and for me personally, it's something I enjoy. While here, you should take note of the murals on the walls and other artwork as they were all painted by the very talented daughter. Whether you're just passing through on your way to see Hoover Dam or a new resident of Boulder City, I would highly recommend you give Big T's a...
Read moreMy husband & I stopped in here to eat on our way through town, we weren’t sure if we had to wait to be seated, didn’t see any signs & no one greeted us or said anything so we just took an empty table. Someone came over dropped paper cup waters off but everyone else had plastic. Someone else dropped off chips & salsa which was really good! But the whole time I felt like we were burdening the staff by being there out entire visit. We kept getting side eyed with dirty looks and the staff wasn’t the friendliest, I caught a lot of attitude vibes coming off as if we had walked into the end of an argument scene or something and everyone looked pissed off. The bartender seemed happy and polite though. It wasn’t that busy but maybe just a bad day? The food was ok, my husband said the red sauce on his burrito tasted like bbq sauce and our quesadilla was so flat there was barely any cheese so it just tasted like tortillas. The biggest thing for me was watching the staff stand there at the counter and eat themselves then not wash their hands after. I’ve worked in food service for 17 years now and I understand you have to eat when you can but never in front of customers unless you’re sitting down for a break at a table. But as least wash your hands.. it was just an odd experience and like I said maybe a bad day for them considering the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Big T's Cantina, and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed!
One of the things I loved about Big T's Cantina was the option to dine either inside or outside. While the interior was cozy and inviting, with plenty of traditional Mexican touches, the outdoor seating area was a real highlight. With plenty of shade and comfortable seating, it was the perfect spot to enjoy a meal on a sunny day.
Speaking of the food, I have to say, it was absolutely delicious. From the fresh guacamole and chips to the flavorful tacos and enchiladas, every dish was bursting with authentic Mexican flavors and spices. I also appreciated Big T's Cantina's commitment to using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, which made the food taste even better.
Overall, I would highly recommend Big T's Cantina to anyone looking for delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere, and the option to dine either inside or outside. Whether you're in the mood for a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner, this place is definitely...
