We went on a Sunday , excited and happy to have ice cream . The atmosphere is bland from the moment you walk in. It’d be nice if they had some music playing.
There was also a lot of jars with what looked like one or two pieces of old candy Seems like they need to do some dusting and make there candy jars look cleaner and actually appetizing.
They don’t greet anyone as they walk in which I think is important in any business to make the customer feel welcomed. The customer service was horrible. There was a young lady w dark hair that didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. Made us feel uncomfortable asking questions and had no smile or expression which was unpleasant. If it wasn’t for this I would’ve purchased more goods. But at that point I wanted to get out as fast as possible.
The ice cream is very good which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1 But unfortunately we probably won’t be back. The shaved ice wasn’t very good and was more like a snow cone ice very chewy and chunky . The ice didn’t taste good either. It taste as it was sitting there for a long time and...
Read moreThis adorable little candy / ice cream shop takes you back to the 50s. Or what I think what the 50s would of looked like as a candy / ice cream shop. They make a lot of awesome chocolate goodies ( truffles, brittle, chocolate covered potatoe chips and pretzels, just to name a few ) they have candy in glass jars where you can pick whatever you want and pay by the weight. They also serve ice cream but it's not their own. It's blue bunny ice cream. We got a regular ice cream cone w/ 1 scoop for $2.75 + tax. You are gonna find that the prices are a little higher than norm. I figured it's usually that way with mom and pop shops like this. I got 3 truffles. Sundae, red velvet, and pb and crunch. My husband got a chocolate sundae but his didn't come with whip cream, nuts and a cherry =( oh well. We sat outside and enjoyed the old school vibes. One thing they do need to do is wipe down their tables for customers. The girl who helped us out was nice. We went almost close to closing so I can tell she was ready to close shop lol. All in all It's always nice to visit...
Read moreGreat for Vegas locals to escape the city and for those traveling to Hoover Dam to get a taste of an old, small town!
We wanted some ice cream and an short escape from the hustle and bustle of Vegas. We put in ice cream and the typical chain spots popped up. But so did Grandma Daisy’s. We decided to drive the 30 minutes to Boulder City.
Boulder City has a nice small town vibe in the center. There are antique stores, pubs, pizza and ice cream!
We walked in and it has the old candy store/ice cream parlor vibe. They have hand scooped ice cream, old school candies, fudge, Candie apples, etc.
We only got the ice cream. They had about 10 flavors to choose from. You can get it in a cup, standard cone or waffle cone.
The price was amazing. We are a family of 5 and got 4 Double scoops and 1 single scoop. Our total was just over $20. Not many places you can get a treat for a family for $20.
The ice cream was fresh and flavorful. Seating in the store is small but they have outdoor seats as well. The girls at the register were nice and helpful.
We will...
