Ugh. I work in Boulder city and was really craving pastrami, but there aren't many options. I walked into Tony's, where I was greeted by an old woman who seemed indignant that I disrupted her day. I told her I was a new customer, and wanted their pastrami sandwich. She wrote it down and told me to take seat.
After seeing people served who came AFTER me, I was getting pretty annoyed. As I sat, I looked at their huge wall menu with a variety of taped-over corrections. On it, I saw the pastrami sandwich came with a side. So, I went back to the counter and told her I was looking at the menu and wanted potato salad with my sandwich. She looked annoyed, noted it, and then dismissed me to me seat.
In the end, it took over 20 minutes to get my order, while TWO others were served before me. When I got back to my office with my sandwich, there was barely any meat on an pale, undercooked hoagie roll, with a bunch of cheese, a pile of dill pickles I DESPISE, and a tiny cup of potato salad with severely under-cooked potatoes.
Needless to say I will not go there again. I only went this time because a coworker ordered us a really yummy pizza we shared. Maybe that's the key: If you want something good, ONLY order pizza. The rest of the menu is a complete waste of time and money....
Read moreWow! What an incredible find! We were on our way to the Hoover dam and needed to grab a bite. We almost stopped at Subway for a pretty sure bet. We drove into downtown Boulder City area and saw several small restaurants together and decided to try one. We landed in Tony's. We looked at the menu and were unimpressed and almost left. We are so glad we stayed! We ordered the cold Italian sub to share and since we didn't know the size, we ordered a slice of sausage and mushroom pizza. Wow! The food was fast and delicious. The sub was full of meat and veggies (loads of meat) and the bread was great! It also came with potato salad and a good pickle! This was more than enough food for the two of us. But we also ordered a slice of pizza in case the sub was small. We couldn't finish the pizza (because the sub was so big) but was a very good slice of pie! Sidenote: I saw a heaping mound of spaghetti and meat sauce being delivered to another customer and it looked delicious! The staff were incredibly friendly and eager to please. I highly recommend making your way to Tony's. Don't get turned off by the "hole-in-wall" appearance and you will be rewarded with a great dining...
Read moreFirstly I enjoy the pizza from Tony's, their garlic pizza specifically is great but their customer service is so hit and miss its just not worth it anymore. We've waited over an hour for delivery before (for 1 med. pizza and salad), once they delivered the wrong order then wouldn't answer when I called over and over again so I had to drive to them to get it fixed. Final straw was this week. I work on the strip and their pizza sounded great. I specifically called them before I headed home to check when they close. I was told 8:30 so I headed to BC planning on ordering when I got closer. I called at 8:03 and no one would answer. So I kept redialing until I got to the restaurant at 8:17 and they were locked up early and wouldn't acknowledge me outside their door. Why tell me 8:30 if you meant 8? I passed a million food options on the way home to have their pizza and by that time most places in BC were closed. I went home and had a can of soup at almost 9pm. There are too many other options out there to gamble on Tony's again. Maybe someday they'll get a sense of customer service but for...
