After two separate episodes with the night-shift staff, I think it's safe to say that they have the worst service I've ever experienced. The first time, three friends and I walked in around 11:00 pm and stood in the front of the restaurant next to the "please wait to be seated sign." After standing there (quietly & politely, mind you) for a solid ten minutes and making eye contact with every single person we saw working there without being so much as acknowledged, we figured we must have to seat ourselves. On our way to our seats, however, one of the waitresses took it upon herself to yell at us because we went to sit at a table near a Wet Floor sign. Had she just seated us in the first place, she could have put us in whatever seat she had wanted us to go to... WHOOPS. She then literally threw the napkins at us like a little kid pitching a pit. After that little moment, we watched a couple at the door IMMEDIATELY get seated and receive their drinks (from the waitress who was supposed to be serving our table) before she even bothered to give us our menus. After watching her walk by our table multiple times to serve/check on other tables, we got up and left. The second time around was almost as mind-boggling. My boyfriend and I arrived at 11:30 pm (laughing about what had happened to us the last time we came late at night) and were AGAIN ignored at the door. Although there were five employees at the counter (two sitting at it on their phones) and being seen, but unacknowledged, we AGAIN seated ourselves. After a few minutes of waiting for someone to come over, we were asked by a waitress: "Can you guys go through the drive thru instead? It's kinda dirty in here and we need to get in cleaned up before we serve anyone." 1. It really wasn't that dirty whatsoever and absolutely no one was cleaning. 2. How long could it possibly take to wipe down ONE table for two people? 3. Ah, so you can't serve us, but you can serve the three other tables of people in here? The only reason we actually went through the drive thru was because we were starving and it was the closest thing that was actually "open." In the end, we would up with some ok burgers and French fries with no salt. Thankfully, I was salty enough from the experience that their lack of seasoning was barely noticed. t mind waiting although it seemed much longer than usual. I have still remained a customer. HOWEVER: Thursday 4-28-16 I went through the drive through, ordered a Frisco Patty (I think it was #3 on the menu, not certain about the number) I received the correct order. I could not resist the fries so I started eating them on the way home - I did not eat many as they were not hot (one of greatest reasons to go to Steakn Shake is fresh hot fries) . I came straight home, not far, & opened the bag with my Frisco Patty (I thought it a little odd the sandwich was not cut as usual (not big deal, I cut it) & it also was not "hot" but it was warm. I ate it & within 15-20 I felt an annoying feeling in my stomach, abdomem,. within the next 20-30 minutes I started to have the worst pain I have EVER experienced, then nausea & more pain. It lasted until early morning. The only food of any kind I had that day was a light breakfast at 8:00 before eating the Frisco Patty at 4:00 p.m. I have never experienced ill effects of food in my life but whatever was in that sandwich (I do not believe it was the fries although they were certainly nothing like the quality I have become accustom to) had to be the ultimate food "poisoning" - maybe it was made ahead & left to set out too long, the sauce not kept cold enough????? Read moreI ordered a meal however they only charged me for the burger and a drink when I got to the window they repeated the large order back to me so fast and i paid. I told her that I wanted the meal they told me they have to charge me for the fries separately I asked them can you please create a refund for me for the burger and drink and just re-ring it out as a meal. I was told there are no refunds. I showed them on the receipt that it doesn't say anything about no refunds. I haven't even received my items at this point. Then the manager got involved claimed that they can do refunds but they're not willing to at this point I can only purchase the fries or leave. I let them know I'll be leaving a negative Google review the answer I got from the manager was I'll still have my job.. first of all I wasn't looking to get her fired I'm just looking to be treated the same way that that manager most likely would have wanted to be treated should they have been on the other side of the window. I cannot believe the lack of customer service that I received. I will never support this location. There are much better places to eat than Steak and Shake and I will make sure to support places that can provide better customer service to their patrons. Disrespectful they should be ashamed. I purchased a fry separately in the end and they made their extra couple dollars off me I recommend go anywhere else even if I made the mistake they could have corrected it easily they also didn't have to lie about the refund and they also didn't have to be so disrespectful. Reading through these other reviews it seems this one manager keeps coming up as disrespectful and people saying I know I will never be back here again that they will never eat at this location again and won't be surprised when it closes due to the lack of service shr is able to offer.
