Well I wanted to try out Capât loui because the menu seem interesting even though it was very pricey. I normally go to and restaurant that is less expensive but I thought I would give it a try. I ordered 1/2 lb snow crabs legs, 1/2 lb clams, and 1lbs crawfish. I also ordered a drink called finding Nemo only because it was the only cocktail with tequila. I am a margarita girl and was disappointed that it wasnât offered on the menu nor was it available off the menu. Even though margaritas wasnât available the finding Nemo was tasty. Unfortunately I canât say the same about my seafood boil. I normally donât order crawfish because itâs never what I expected but they had live crawfish so I thought maybe it would be different than what I expected, but I was wrong. The 1/2 lb clams I ordered was just shells no meat was inside all except 1clam and I found a piece of clams meat inside the bag and not in the shell. The snow crabs was mediocre far as flavor. I also ordered garlic noodles which I thought was a bit dry but it was actually better than the entire seafood boil itself. If I was to order the same thing I ordered at the other restaurant I normally go to it would be well under $50. I ended up spending over $80 at Capât loui. Will I recommend this restaurant no will I go here again that would also be a no. Unless you want to go for signature drinks although I only sample 1 cocktail. Was it worth the drive I donât think so. I could go on with all the cons but I will just stop here. Do I think this restaurant has longevity only time will tell. I wish I could say it was great. I can only say customer service was great, the staff was friendly and helpful , but thatâs about all...
Read moređ On Wednesday evening, I ventured to Capât Loui in Braintree with my brother and his girlfriend, eager to explore the buzz surrounding this chain restaurant. Despite not being a fervent seafood enthusiastâdespite hailing from New EnglandâI approached the experience with an open mind.
đč Our evening kicked off with their cocktail pouch drinks, an unexpected delight that masked their potency dangerously well. Definitely a must-try! 8/10.
đŠ Now, onto the piĂšce de rĂ©sistanceâthe seafood boil! The seafood boil has endless options from lobster, clams, mussels, shrimp, calamari etc. We got the shrimp and snow crab, drenched in their signature Capt Loui sauce. The customizable experience was a true delight! We also opted for corn and potatoes as our sides and made everything medium spice level (although you could go higher!) Itâs messy, itâs interactive, but oh-so-worth it for the explosion of flavors! 8/10. Remember your bib and gloves to keep the sauce at bay!
đ As a delightful diversion, we sampled their garlic noodlesâoozing with garlic and cheeseâperfect for those seeking an alternative to seafood. 8/10.
đ€ And letâs not forget the crispy fried fish and chips basket, where each bite was a symphony of flavors, especially when paired with their Cajun tartar sauce. A solid 8/10.
đ° Wrapping up our culinary journey, we indulged in the funnel cake fries with ice cream, a divine and shareable finale to our meal. 8/10.
đ In summary, Capât Loui offers a unique dining adventure even for those not fully immersed in the seafood scene. With locations in Braintree and Stoneham, itâs an experience worth embarking on.

Read moreI am writing to formally express my disappointment with an experience I had at your Braintree, MA location on August 17, 2025.
Upon arrival, I requested a table for two and noticed several empty tables at the front of the restaurant. However, we were led to the back and offered regular chairs. When we politely asked to be seated at a booth instead, the hostâs demeanor changed noticeably. Without a word, she brought us to the front, tossed the menus onto the table, and walked away without acknowledging us. After that, no staff approached us to welcome us, take our order, or offer any service at all.
In addition to the lack of professionalism, I couldnât help but notice a disturbing pattern. The back of the restaurantâwhere the music was significantly louder (hip-hop specifically)âwas filled with people of color. Meanwhile, the front area, which was quieter and played a different type of music, was occupied by non-POC guests. As a person of color myself, this left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and frankly, discriminated against. Whether intentional or not, this seating pattern, combined with the dismissive attitude of the host, strongly suggested bias.
I have enjoyed visiting Capât Loui in the past, but this experience left a sour taste in my mouthâone that unfortunately overshadows the food and atmosphere I once appreciated. I do not plan to return, and I hope management takes this feedback seriously to ensure all customers are treated with equal respect and dignity, regardless of race...
