Do NOT book a birthday party at this Dave and Busters. The "manager" Tracy or Tina (can't remember her name) was the RUDEST person I've ever met in my life. Food was terrible and expensive. The reserved space was underwhelming and the worst part is we paid GOOD money to be here. Only to be treated terrible.
Buckle in, this will be a long one. Problems started before I even set foot in Dave and Busters. Of course communication is great when they're trying to get your money and sign that contract. Once that was done, I couldn't get anyone to contact me back. My son got sick the night before the party so I called Tyler, my only point of contact, to see what the rescheduling policy was in the event my son felt worse the day of his party. Straight to voicemail. In the voicemail he states he is out of town but to contact this other person (can't remember her name either) So, I call that person and straight to VM. I also tried emailing this lady AND Tyler, both with no response. Luckily my son was feeling much better the morning of the party so we didn't have to reschedule.
We walk into Dave and Busters and tell the front desk ladies we have a party scheduled at 3pm. She says that the manager will be right with us. After about 5-10 minutes of waiting, here comes the "manager" No name tag, no introduction, no smile. She literally walks up and stares at us. Then my husband finally says, "Hi, Are you the manager that's supposed to take us to our party" and she just barks "What's the name?" We tell her and off she goes commanding us to "follow her" So we do, and she brings us to the very back corner of the building where it looks like just a normal dining area. NOTHING special. No tablecloths, no décor, NOTHING. For almost $600, I expected a little more than 2 tables in the middle of a dining room. Not to mention, I expected to be able to see my kids as they ran around and played with their friends. You are completely cut off from the main play area of the building, which I also did not like and I expressed that. No apology, nothing. Just blank stares. Then I said "Can you explain how this works, we've never had a party here before" and she literally said "Yeah, I planned on it. I was waiting for you to get over complaining about the area" - The AUDACITY! Oh, and she never did explain anything to me. She handed me cards and a wrist band and again, just stared at us. At this point, some of my guests started to arrive and she left.
The party host came over at this point and HE was super sweet, I have nothing but nice things to say about him. He came over and asked what time we wanted our food brought out and I said around 4pm. Well, about 5 minutes later here comes the mean manager and she said "You didn't tell me what time you want your food out." Very rude, almost blaming me. So I said, "I just told the host 4pm" and she said "Oh, you told him?!" and I said "Yep" and she rolled her eyes and walked away.
The only thing worst than her attitude was the food. We paid $140 for a plate of French Fries and a BURNT flatbread that was cut into tiny pieces. What a joke.
Please don't waste your time booking a party here. I honestly could've (and should've) told all my friends and family to just meet us out there. I would've spent 1/2 the money and not had to deal with the stress that should've NEVER happened on my son's birthday party. I paid over $600 to be treated like trash by the manager, shoved in a corner of the building and be served burnt, expensive food. OH! The big kicker is all the kids kept complaining to me that even though I spent $25 EXRA on all their cards - numerous times they swiped the card, it took the money but they couldn't play the game. So, there's another large amount of money I lost. My guests and I also drove over an hour just to have our party here. Save yourself the trouble and...
Read moreI usually don’t post negative reviews of any place that I visit but today after the disrespect I endured in front of my wife, I feel absolutely compelled to. My wife and I enjoy two residences and travel between them often in central Florida. Given that my nieces are out of school and hadn’t done anything fun in a while I decided to treat them to Dave & Busters so they could have a good start to the weekend. The service at the restaurant portion was good and the food was as expected. I bought the girls the 4 pack of cards so they could play as long as they wanted. My wife and I closed our tab and went to secure a pool table so we could have fun as adults. We first ask a young lady folding silverware near the pool tables and she points us to the front desk. We wait in line at the desk to be told we needed to go to the hostess desk. Once we get back there we are told it has to be at the front desk. The same young lady that sent us to the hostess says oh I thought you said booth and proceeded to take my ID in exchange for the billiard balls. No big deal we moved on and enjoyed three long games of pool
Once we are done, some 2.5 hours into our visit, my wife and I approach the front desk to return the balls and get my ID. At this point the same young lady that misdirected us at the front desk immediately raised her voice to her coworker saying don’t let them leave and she bolts over to her kiosk with a line full of folks at the door. Perplexed I look at her confused and said I am just trying to get my ID. She tells me to stay right there for a moment and her coworker gives her a stern look and stated that we had just finished a game and were leaving.
As a 6’4 275lb heavily tattooed male, I am accustomed to stares, odd glances and the like. But this young lady made an assumption that I was leaving without paying, after I had closed a near $500 bill an hour ago and had opened and closed another. She apologized after her coworker corrected her, saying sorry we have had a bunch of walk outs here lately and I was worried that’s what was happening. I told her that I clearly wasn’t doing that on my $22 table rental after already paying my hefty dinner and game bill. She said sorry again and followed with you know how it goes. No I really don’t and especially not in front of my wife who was completely shocked having never experienced this with me before. I am grateful my nieces were not beside us at the time to have experienced this level of disrespect towards someone that they look up to.
I have been many places and experiences plenty of assumptions based on my appearance. Thinking and displaying that I would be stealing in front of a line full of guests and my wife is completely unacceptable and due to this fact, this is an establishment I’ll...
Read moreCame here for the first time with my partner for my birthday. I had never been to a D&B’s and I’ve been wanting to go to an arcade. We ordered food - the chicken potstickers (not pictured since we ate them so fast) were new on the menu and were actually really good. Then on to the nachos that really couldn’t be called nachos if you can tell my the picture. There was a sprinkle of toppings on there. We settled on the salmon to have “something healthy” with the drinks (which were decently good by the way) and the “nachos” we had. Although we both ordered the exact same dish - you can see how different the proportions are. Mine had the seasoning butter conveniently left off and I almost didn’t want to mention it but thankfully my partner did and the waitress brought out my own little small container - which come to find out as the source of seasoning for the entire dish or else it would have been incredibly bland.
On the the games - some were non working which is to be expected for machinery. But you had kids running around without regard, grabbing balls and playing games that they had not paid for but were just playing with. We patiently waited when faced with these issues but it’s something to be aware of should you wish to visit.
The lady at the prize area was not the nicest when we brought up the issue with our remaining points that we didn’t realize we had a large number of until they told us after we had processed the prize transactions because the number when we checked in the screen was different that what the other clerk saw. Noted for the future but we had to leave because it was entirely too hot with everyone just standing in that prize space with all the lights.
Upon arriving and departing, there was heavy police activity right in the parking lot - lights flashing and lots of young adults and kids involved. Seems like the norm there and the teens are just crawling all over this place.
Overall a heavy “okay” experience. We’re only going back because of the remaining gift points - may be a better trip during a non-peak time like during the school year and in the dead middle of the week or early as soon as they open. But I wouldn’t be surprised if I just counted it as a loss and never come back to this location. Our visit was on Feb 3rd at 7:30-10:30 approx. we had a...
