Warning *** I’m having a “Karen” moment! Lol Summary- I like this hotel, a lot in fact. The service is great, it’s very clean, quite comfortable but, it’s the little things that get me. A little back story, my husband and I come to Tampa once a month. We live in Miami and my husband works remotely from home. The company he works for, is based here in Tampa and he comes up for his monthly engineering meetings. So, we’re here…a lot! Lol Like I stated before, I like this hotel. The beds are some of the best! The service is really impeccable. The grounds are kept nice, they have a gym and an indoor heated pool, so even if it’s a wee bit cold out you can still have some good ole Florida fun! What I don’t like, and it really chaps my hide, 🤣 is the fact that you have to OVER pay for every little tiny thing here. For instance, there’s no breakfast. Like not even a muffin! There is really bad coffee in the room where they give you 2 sugars and 1 little powdered creamer. Some of these little packages have napkins and stir sticks, some don’t. Oh, and did I mention it’s really bad…like bad bad. And I know, a lot of people are going to nitpick at the fact that I’m rating them 3 stars because of coffee and breakfast, (I told you I was having a Karen moment) but the fact remains that when I spend $412 for 2 nights at a hotel, with minimal services (because they’ve laid off the majority of their employees so they don’t have to give daily housekeeping room checks, so they can pocket more profit and blame it on the pandemic! Oh yeah, I said it, go watch Adam ruins everything about Covid and Hotels!) I do expect a muffin or at least a dang cup of coffee to be free. The odd part is, we’ve stayed at this hotel enough that when my husband and I went to Tulsa, OK for our kiddos wedding, I made sure to look for a Marriott Courtyard for us to stay in. We encountered the same service, comfort and amenities but, they served a rather large and nice breakfast with coffees, juices, milks etc. But after this, after being charged $2.03 for a small cup of coffee, I think my husband and will be staying at the Hyatt up the road. We were staying there for a while when we were making these trips and I decided, “why not shake it up and stay at the Marriott…” I think we’ll be going back. Not for nothing but, they have an enormous breakfast and coffee bar! 😉

Worst hotel that I have ever been to. The outside appearance and lobby looks decent, but don’t let that fool you. Checked into this hotel on Nov 26 for a week and was not impressed. Upon check-in I was provided with room keys that did not work (that should have been the first indication my week here was going to go downhill). Went back to the front desk to get my keys reprogrammed and what a surprise upon entering the room - it was not cleaned from last occupancy!!! The night auditor (Ann) quickly reassigned a room which I appreciated. However staying in that room was not a good experience. The furniture is way too small for the room size, the AC unit was dated and noisy, the beds were uncomfortable, the pillows were flat, the sheets itched my skin, the carpet were a bit worn and had spots, there was no beside phone (granted no uses hotel phones anymore but irregardless), the time on the bedside clock was wrong (1 hour fast maybe due to DST), workmanship in the shower was very shoddy - over caulked joints and peeling wallpaper. And top it all the bathroom was not cleaned throughly. I observed dirt sitting in a corner the entire week. Whenever I was in the room my allergies flared up - sneezing, runny eyes, itching skin made my stay just miserable. Word of advice to Marriot. Maybe occasionally you should do QA audits on your franchise operations and operators because this hotel doesn’t cut it for Marriot’s standards of quality accommodations. I am still trying to understand how this hotel is rated as category 5. After discovering that the Fairfield Inn across the street was operated by the same company I cancelled my reservation for next week.

I wouldnt stay here again. The hotel advertised free breakfast & parking on multiple websites (I used booking.com.) When I arrived at the hotel, I was told parking was $10 a day. Parking lot is extremely small and is shared with other hotels and the parking lot is barely lit at night. If I have to pay for parking at a hotel, I expect it to be valet or at least a garage not accessible to the general public. That was insane to pay for parking in a parking lot that is equivalent to Waffle House. Then I was told breakfast was an additional fee and not included. The pool room burns your eyes because there is no proper ventilation. My room was spacious, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. And the staff was nice and I understand they are only doing what they are told. Thats the most I can say.

If you are looking for a low budget hotel then this would work for you, but if you got young kids, this place won’t work. ||First off, if you look carefully enough, you will find ants on the tables and possibly on the bed like I did if your room has a balcony. Ants come through the balcony is what I’m thinking. How do they make up for that? They give you a downgrade in your room and call the balcony a luxury to have so they don’t do anything to compensate for the downgrade in the room and the General Manager defends not giving compensation by saying at least we didn’t cancel the reservation and refund you and that you have a place to stay. Having a balcony was just an added benefit plus having a bigger room so it doesn’t mean anything to downgrade you to a smaller room with no balcony and smaller square footage. ||Walls are thin so if your child is loud, you may get a knock on your door by the next door neighbor telling you to keep it down at 9:30pm. You may also hear guests in the hallway being loud at night. I showered my daughter and while drying her hair, she was singing loudly and someone knocks on my door saying she’s next door and it’s loud. Then she had the audacity to ask if we were smoking because she can smell smoke. She’s obviously smoking something herself or high. ||Going back to the ants issue. The staff have bad communication. After informing them of the ants in the room, I was told management would get in touch with me. That never happened. I had to make sure I followed up each day and never got a resolution. Was finally told to contact the 3rd party where I booked the room about the issue for compensation. I get notified on the day after checking out from a 4 night stay that compensation was denied by the hotel when the 3rd party contacted the hotel. So I call the hotel and the General Manager answers and first he stated Priceline is non refundable and this is the first time the General Manager heard about my room issue. After staying here for 4 nights that he finally hears about my issue from me. Either way, the General Manager doesn’t do anything. He obviously doesn’t care for the guests. ||The bistro they have in the lobby serves breakfast for 3 hours and it’s not complimentary. Then they are closed until dinner time. The location is poorly lit on the outside so you can miss the entrance to drive your car in if you don’t pay attention.||Only upside was an indoor swimming pool that is 3 feet 6 inches to 6 feet. No hot tub. Indoor pool is not well lit if you decide to go towards the evening. The gym has 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical, 1 exercise bike, and some weights.||If you can avoid this place, you should at all cost. If you are really staying on a low budget, then this will probably work for you. You may want to find an Airbnb, which can be cheaper than...

I am from West Palm Beach and my job sent me to Tampa for the 2nd time to work however this Marriott is a Racist hotel! Blacks are not welcome. Unless you bleach your skin be my guest. This is my 6 time booking with Marriott off and on the clock. I’ve been too Many other Marriotts never have I been treated like this before. I checked in on Monday 02/18/2019 around 10–11 pm after my shift. The nice filipino lady checked me in she knew the company I work for but the black lady insisted she checked me in. Why I don’t know, but the old lady told her she got it. Literally 1 hour after I went to shower and played some music from my PHONE as I shower. There was a knock on the door. The black lady from the front desk with the locs and glasses told me the music was too LOUD, I turned it OFF. The next day I had to go in at 1pm. I left my room at 12:15pm it took me 25 mins to get to work. I only worked for 30 minutes when my manager pulled me aside and told me I was being kicked out of the hotel and I need to get my things and head back to west palm. I did as so, NO ONE from the hotel called me to tell me what happened or what was going on. I had to get a new set of keys because they had canceled my old key so I wouldn’t be able to go in. My center director then called the other employee who was also checked in at the same hotel that we had to leave immediately still with no explanation. Thursday 02/21/2019 my manager called me and told me and the other employee was FIRED! My company have booked me smoking rooms because they know I smoke cigarettes. I got kicked out because of LOUD MUSIC which I turned it off when she asked, VANDALIZED the hotel room and found ashes in the room in my ash tray. When My company paid for a smoking room. After they stated the room was not vandalized but was upside down. Instead of going all out there way to contact my corporate to get me out of there they could of simply denied me staying there denied my checking in because of the color of my skin and Yes, I actually work for a living and not another black statistic lost in this cruel world. I’ll take this as a blessing and a learn lesson. Do some research In the area before going there because we cannot stop discrimination we cannot...
