Shakey's Pizza Parlor — Restaurant in Brea

Family and I went to shakeys on 4/7/22 for dinner. Very disappointed with 2 employees I've seen there. The 1st employee was the front person who was a young guy with curly super short purpleish hair that was taking orders. 1st he refilled the salad at the salad bar & pieces of salad that fell to the side of the bar, he picked it up with bare hands NO gloves in place in with the salad. Then he goes back the register grabs a napkin and wipes off the crumbs from a 4"pan then puts the dirty pan back at the salad bar. Wasn't washed, rinsed and sanitized. Then in between he never bothered to wash his hands and still no gloves after he has been back and forth from register, salad bar and somewhat cleaning up tables. Now 30 mins has passed by, he serves an alcohol beverage to a costumer in a to go cup without charging him and costumer left the resturant. Now the last final observations from this young employee, he cleans off the tables after a small group of party has left, with gloves ON and still taking costumer's order and grabbing cups with the dirty gloves on from wiping off tables.. 2nd employee is an older lady from kitchen, would clean up the salad bar and covers the toppings and also bring out the orders and place them under hot lamps which none of them were on and also as well she wasn't wearing gloves as you should especially if you have hot pink nail polish on your nails. My family would NOT ever go back to this facility. Paid our order $90. 37 to which is NOT worth ANYMORE. Our chicken and mojos were double fried and we didnt want to ask to please redo our order fresh due to employee's DIDNT use...

If I could have read it this a minus five I would have. After coming all the way from the Pismo Beach area and wanting to try Shakey's here, we lost ours at Arroyo grande several years ago, I was greeted with that you can't bring dogs in here. I told the man that both the dogs were service animals he said it didn't matter California didn't allow dogs in restaurants and that they could not come in. The only thing that could come in were service animals?! Stated again that both dogs were service animals one was wearing a jacket and the other had his tags on he did not want to hear it he told me I could not come in and that I needed to leave. I did and went to the one in La Habra and was treated with such respect and dignity and given the best food I've had in a long time especially the fried chicken. I wish people would understand the proper way of addressing people who walk in with dogs. Yes I know a lot of people are lying about their dogs being service animals however the law says you cannot ask any for the questions and that I have the right to have my dog with me anywhere I go. Mine just happened to be legitimate but people think because they're so small there's nothing they could actually do but they do and they do a very good job of it. La Brea I went ahead and called corporate had to leave a message don't know if I'll ever hear from them or not but we'll see. I still got my Shakey's fixed...

No question, this was the worst Shakey's I've ever been to! I generally like Shakey's and have been going there on regular basis since a long time ago. The pizza tasted like cardboard, a bunch of dried up mojo potatoes in the container, and only chicken thighs were available. I'm a breast person and always ask for a chicken breast as soon as I pay for the lunch. They said they had legs in the back but they had to cook the breast and it would take 15 minutes for it to be ready. Nothing new and I said fine and I waited for it. After 20, 25 minutes, no chicken breast, I asked the server and she said it's coming! Finally, after 32 minutes of waiting, I went to the guy at the register (I thing he was the owner/manager of the place) and complained about the wait. Instead of maybe a nice explanation or even and apology, he raised his voice and said it takes 20 minutes for the chicken breast and it's coming. Obviously, this moron just lost my business for sure, but my question is why they don't cook chicken breasts as well as other parts. I've been to other Shakey's and they sometimes had a surplus of breasts and not enough dark meat! This particular store is famous for being so stingy and cheap with supplying the food they charge their customers for. Shakey's corporation doesn't need store operators like this guy, this could and will happen again and they lose...
