Most people know that Wendy's is an American international fast-food restaurant founded by Dave Thomas. He named his restaurant after one of his daughters.
Until recently, if you lived in this area, you would have to drive to Silverdale or hop on a bus to partake in the Wendy's experience. Although not far for most of us, it can be far for people who are elderly, disabled or rely on walking for transportation.
We recently opened a Wendy's restaurant in East Bremerton, among other new stores such as Grocery Outlet and Chipotle. I have yet to eat much from Wendy's, so as far as giving my personal opinion about many different items, I cannot fulfill that.
That said, one of the few items I have tried and liked is their oatmeal bar. It's been a while, but I have had that as my breakfast a few times. It's tasty, and if you can get one fresh out of the oven, they're so yummy, warm, and chewy. Another item, which I've had three times over five years or so, is their breakfast seasoned potatoes. All I have to say is that I am happy I have control. I'm not a huge potato fan; I don't hate them, but I don't need them either. But these, are really good. So, it's all about power and a small splurge now and again for me. Saying that, you cant go wrong with their seasoned potatoes; I cant explain them; you have to try them for yourself; I doubt you'll be disappointed. A couple of years ago, I had a junior burger. I can't recall not liking it, but I last purchased one in 2021. The last thing, as far as food goes, that I can recall, which has happened twice recently, is their freshly made apple pecan salad. Yes, I eat a lot of salads, and I'll probably eat more of these in the near future. Their apple pecan salad had: Romain lettuce/spring mix, apple, dried cranberry, boneless, skinless chicken breast, topped with blue cheese (light on the blue cheese for me), roasted pecans, and pomegranate vinaigrette dressing. You really have to try this salad. I was happy with the quality of the lettuce. So many times, when I purchased pre-made salads, I had to filter through and pull out nasty pieces; by the time I did that, a quarter of my salad was down the drain.
Wendy's restaurant is a month old, so everything is still clean and fresh, with no stained tables or floors. The soda fountain area was clean; there was no puddled soda anywhere. The staff I have encountered so far, which has only been twice, have been friendly, on top of things, and clean-looking. That said, my hubby ordered a burger through the drive-thru the other day. He had to repeat his order three times, and they still made it wrong. Hopefully, it's because they are still breaking in new people. 🤷🏻♀️
Wendy's new location is at the Bremerton Station. 4300 Wheaton Way, Bremerton, Washington.

Read moreI recently visited the Wendy's in East Bremerton and was disappointed with the experience. They’ve introduced a new AI feature in the drive-thru, which seemed promising. After placing my order, the AI asked if I needed anything else, and since it reminded me of Google, I jokingly asked it to tell me a joke. Instead of engaging, it simply stated it could only assist with the order, which my girlfriend and I found amusing.
However, upon arriving at the window, we were met with an unwarranted lecture from what appeared to be a manager about being “professional.” She even accused us of cursing at the AI, which we absolutely did not do. We only said, “Tell me a joke.” To make things worse, she seemed to withhold our drinks while delivering this condescending speech.
Ironically, this same employee has previously overshared her personal life with us, including why she was late to work. Apparently she works a job across town ans her start time was aparently fairly close to the end of shift at her other job... this being something i didnt care about as i ordered my $6 biggie bag.
If professionalism is so important, perhaps she should lead by example. Lecturing paying customers over a harmless comment is unnecessary and unprofessional. I won’t be returning...
Read moreI don't eat fast food a lot but Wendy's was always my exception until now.
Don't expect to talk to a real person when ordering its all AI now and never gets your order right, its not efficient at all.
doesn't matter how slow it is they always take an excessively long time to get your order wrapped up.
Every single time I've gone here the crew was rude to me or just didn't try to engage with me at all. Not so much as a "have a nice day" or "hello how are you today" in fact the first time I came here, the staff member who takes payment opens the window and says "I'm here for payment" while holding his hand out impatiently. Those were the only words spoken to me the whole interaction.
The food isn't good anymore period. the fries are always stale and the...
