My family and I decided to stop here on 27 Nov 2024 to grab a few pick-me-up drinks before hitting the asphalt for a mini road trip. We were visiting Nashville from Las Vegas (LV) for Thanksgiving week and although this coffee shop was several minutes from our hotel location (by the airport), it was well worth the drive. I enjoy supporting small business coffee shops and places that are ideal hot spots for locals (not those large franchise coffee places that people tend to gravitate towards). Also, after conducting a Google search for coffee shops, this one caught my eye based on their rating/reviews, and geographical location since it was en route to our first road trip destination.
The walk from the parking lot to the business can be a little nerve-racking especially for those with little kids because the parking lot itself can get congested with increased traffic flow. But unlike drivers and pedestrians in LV, the folks here in Brentwood seem to understand traffic flow a lot better. Not to mention, people here are a lot more respectful towards pedestrians (well, that's what it appeared to be while we were visiting this area). If you disagree, try spending a week or so driving in LV - but I digress.
We ordered the Lutito, Peppermint Patty, and Askinosie Hot Chocolate (not pictured). (Un)fortunately, we already had a large breakfast so we didn't get the opportunity to try any of their food, but based on what I read, their menu items look/sound delicious. Each drink was magnificent; I wish we had more time in our day to sit there and drink our beverage from an actual house mug, but the flavor integrity of the latte and chocolate were not sacrificed based on our to-go cups. The prices were reasonable and definitely matched the service and drink quality.
The shop's décor was nice, warm, and inviting. The staff on shift that day (~11:30 am), and especially our cashier (female), were so friendly and operated very efficiently. I wish I could've captured the name(s) to recognize them on this review, but I suspect the business can see who was on shift that day to personally thank them all. The "friendly and happy" experience was a refreshing change of pace for us coming from LV - we have a lot of coffee shops in LV but the personalities are a hit-or-miss at times. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll be sure to swing by (with my appetite) for another experience. I highly recommend this business...
Read moreI visited here a few weeks ago to kill some time while my dad took a woodworking class nearby. I was looking for a nice cafe so I could do some schoolwork while I waited. Cream delivered!
It's in a large shopping center so there's plenty of parking available. The cafe itself doesn't feel like a shopping center cafe, though -- the vibe is super refined and classy, beautiful, modern, and spacious! Lots of gentle warm light and plenty of spots to settle down. You order at the counter. They have coffee, obviously, as well as some simple meal options and pastries.
My mom (who was with me) and I were able to snag a booth for two. Despite them being very busy, I think the space contained the noise well, as I was able to focus without too much trouble. Those who are super sensitive to noise may have more difficulty, though.
The barista at the counter was exceedingly pleasant and helpful. I must admit that I'm a person who wants a little coffee in their dessert, rather than the other way around, and I was nervous these rather high brow coffee concoctions wouldn't be sweet enough for me. The barista suggested a beverage she thought would be a good fit and offered to make it extra sweet for me. Appreciate her help!
I wound up with their version of a pumpkin spiced latte. I was morbidly curious about their coffee soda, too, so I ordered that on a whim. My drinks came out quickly.
The coffee soda was a miss for me, sadly -- just a little too strange. I'm more than willing to accept that's a me problem, though. It was a very novel concept and I could see what they were going for with some of the flavor combos.
Their take on a PSL was lovely, though! It honestly still wasn't super sweet, but the coffee was brewed so well and was so mellow I really didn't mind. The pumpkin was present but not overwhelming, and the whipped cream on top made it even smoother and creamier. Good stuff!
Thanks for a nice hangout spot while in the area! I'd...
Read moreI’ve been into specialty coffee for about 4-5 years now, but I’ve always really loved coffee and coffee shops. So I was really excited when I found out that Brentwood was getting a Crema! And true to form, everything I’ve tried here has been delicious and made with such care and precision. Whether you like flavored seasonal drinks, straight espresso, good ol’ drip coffee, or even tea or matcha (not to mention the incredible food!), there’s definitely something here for you. The place is usually pretty busy every time I go in, but the staff is always so nice and welcoming! Finally, they sell a lot of pourover tools like kettles, drippers, cups, and they roast their own coffee and have a lot of guides online in case you want to try making it at home. I can’t say enough great things about Crema, so...
