Went on a Monday after my daughters 8th grade graduation. She likes their wings and it being $.69 wing night it was where she wanted to go to celebrate. Arrived 520pmish, spoke to host, told him we wanted a table, not a booth. He asked if a hightop would work. I told him no, I suffer from severe back problems. He said ok, proceeded to check the dinning room. Said it would be about a 25 min wait. I said that was no problem. We waited, he was very good about keeping us informed on the wait, took about 35 mins. However when he led us to the table. It was a highish-top with weird half high-top bar chairs in the back of the bar section. Not what I ment when I said I wanted a table At this point having waited. I figured I'd just deal with it so we could all eat. Waitress came over. We put in a drink order, waters for all and cocktails and beers for adults mocktail for daughter. She brought the waters almost right away. Although, none of us really drank the water. I know water in restaurants has to be filtered by law, but theirs tasted awful. The other drinks took a while. And for having what looked like 4 or 5 bartenders working the wait seemed a little ridiculous. The cocktails were a miss for me. I got the blood orange mule. Tasted nothing like blood orange, mule glass was filled to the brim with ice. At most I would say 5oz of liquid in the cocktail. My mother in law ordered the margarita, which she said was more mix then anything else, and served in a highball glass. My wife got the only beer, Guiness, tough to mess that up. None of us ordered another alcoholic beverage after the first round. They were just disappointing for the price. By now we had placed our food order With our waitress before the cocktails arrived. Calamari (my daughter loves it) 3 kinds of wings; mild buffalo, markers mark bbq, and garlic parmesan. Along with this we got a side of fries, onion rings and an order of guac and chips. Told them to just bring everything out at once. We as a family have a tendency to order a bunch of stuff and share. Food arrived, everything was really good. The only thing I will say about the food is the wings were warm and not hot. I think since it is the special on Monday night they must fry a bunch ahead of time and keep in a warmer and just toss as many as are needed when an order comes in. I feel this is the case because we have gone other nights when not on special and they were piping hot and crispy. Also, this is just a nit-pick, the mild buffalo, is REALLY mild, so mild infact my daughter ate them with no problem and she hates spicy foods. The service was ok, our waitress was good, not great, but good. Did have to pry her attention away from her friends at one point, they were sitting at a table next to us, so I could order a soda. All in all we've been here a few times and it's always been pretty good. I will say this with summer now here and the warm weather fast rolling in. This will be our last visit until post Labor Day. We made the mistake of going here once last summer, and we're not even going to talk about that experience. I would say if your looking for beers and bar food, I would give them a solid...
Read moreWent to Beacon 70 with high expectations! My wife told me what a nice place with great deals of good food! The food was a burger. Hard to mess up so the food was fine. At ordering we ordered the burger special. $6! We were told we could get fries, onion rings, slaw, so 3 of us got onion rings. The waitress was hardly seen throughout the meal. Ok . The bill came up as 2 specials @$12×2 - $5 once then 1 spc @ $12-$5 and 1spc @$12 -$5. First of all $12 -$5 = $7 not $6 as is stated on the menu. We were also charged $2 for each set of onion rings? One of us wanted Bacon which the waitress neglected and the bus boy brought! Which we didn't get charged for. Not to mention $3.50 for each drink which is an outrageous price for a soda. So our simple meal came to $49 & change plus tax. So in looking at the bill we questioned it. This is when we were informed, well it's not a special if you change the dish in any way which was not mentioned so she took $5 off the bill. Charged us for the onion rings @$2 each. Not the Bacon which she forgot to bring in the first place. So after tax the bill was still $49. The amount was not the problem!!! The problem was non-disclosure of what the special entailed. If she told us what was what at ordering I'm sure the end result would have been different! So my wife gives tha waitress $50 cash. I know it's was only $1 but the waitress did not bring change! It's not her decision as to what and where the tip comes from! This is where things get dicey! We were getting up to leave we had in tow a disabled could barely walk! The waitress came to the table as we were leaving looking for her tip. My wife and I decided she was not worthy of a tip due to non disclosure, no change not attentive. So the waitress noticed that there was not a tip and just exploded! She yelled loud enough to stop the restaurant! Yelling... using insults at us ie: if you can't afford a $6 burger you shouldn't go out to eat! She I'll mannered!, rude!, insulting!, and entitled but not deserving! This is an individual that should be as we said in my business managed up or managed out. This one instance, as it is intolerable, this individual should be managed out! So I leave this review as a warning to patrons of this establishment, beware! There is an untrained waitress there that only cares about her tip regardless of her actions or inactions! To the management of the establishment who despite saying... is there anything we can do while the waitress was still mouthing off!! I'd say fire her immediately she was not taught proper behavior as a child and it is effecting how she treats people in her "adolt life". Individuals like this breed I'll manored patrons. We are all just looking for some happiness. She, you ruined it!!! Very shameful! P.S. I belive, despite the manager stating "we never get complaints about her" that this is an instance of repetitious behavior! That this individual has hidden by trying to shut patrons up by removing afew dollars from a bill. And will be repeated.....
Read moreWhere's the management. 30% of the time maybe 40 the food does not come out correctly. Simple request but they cannot follow through. One bartender told us nobody speaks English in the kitchen he was laughing he said one guy just got here from Mexico last week now he's a chef LOL. Oneday I saw a busboy a young man hard-working. He was coming from the kitchen with 10 ,16 oz glasses. I saw that he was holding his glasses against his chest where he was perspiring. Politely I told the young man excuse me you might not want to do that. Not his fault. The long-haired Brown bartender interrupted me and my friends in the very aggressive manner stating who do you think you are to tell this busboy what to do and you shouldn't be yelling at him. LOL Politely I told her nobody was yelling at him just found it to be inappropriate andthe manager after I asked for him.defended the bartender and the Busboy. He stated to me words for word that's how we train them. 3 months went by where I did not go into the restaurant. Within a couple of moments the busboy came out stack of 10 glasses open end under his armpit One of those are you effing kidding me moments. I bought it to the attention of the bartender. There was a side conversation but believe it or not those glasses were not taken out of of service. This is the belly bartender. Unfortunately they have a staff of employees along with management they just don't care ,those values are long gone. Give me mine where's my entitlement over the course of two years nice nice people there. A small majority of the employees are competent. Feel bad for the owners it doesn't matter but unfortunately you can do so much better. So many times the manager is playing video games in the lobby or right in the middle of lunch in the parking lot with a blower The night of Winterfest walked in one bartender is pouring booze from the bottle into the mouths of some of her friends that were sitting at a table I'm sure the ABC would love that. Final straw was after I left a $10 tip 5 on the card 5 cash I was confronted in front of the whole bar by Joe who was infuriated as he thought he was entitled to so much more. It was a $ 70.00 bill he poured a couple of drinks and open a couple of bottles of beer LOL. We exchanged words. To the owners if you...
