On Saturday, May 5th, my family and I attended the Bridgeton Chimi's location (as we do typically once every 2 weeks) for Cinco De Mayo. As we were waiting for our food, a server made an attempt to walk pass holding 5 or more plates(from cleaning a table) dropping them on my wife's back and phone with food and cheese, providing a poor experience and also an embarrassing one. At the time the incident took place my wife and I attempted to make sure she was first, was alright (due to the broken glass and plates surrounding her and my children and directly following the accident our food was bought out by additional workers who forcefully tried to hand us out plates while we were wiping food and glass off my wife and her phone as if that didn't matter.
Immediately following the incident we had to ask for a damp towel to removed cheese from my wife’s entire back and phone and also to even speak with a manger. Once the manager arrived at the table after 3 request (10mins) I asked what he was willing to assist with the bill as a result of the careless attempt that resulted and he looked at me and only said only one word, sorry. Once he received push back he offered 10% discount off a $70 bill (which is also the amount my family spends at this establishment bi-weekly) and walked away and return to the kitchen area. At this time my wife and traumatized children left to head to the car due to not wanting or even feeling comfortable to stay or eat at the establishment. I would also like to point out that during our 30 minutes at the restaurant we were NEVER offered refills or even asked if anything was needed following the incident.
As I proceed to pay the bill I questioned the greeter at the registrar asking too speak to the owner and was informed that the owner was not present and his schedule is "random" so not only could I not be advised when he comes and goes but there was no phone number he could be reached at. Once I again expressed dissatisfaction for the 10%, $6 discount was bought out from the kitchen by the greeter the manager rolled his eyes and offered an additional $6 discount and brushed me away as if my service and experience would be forgotten and would not affect their business. Words cannot express the disrespect and lack of consideration for an incident that was clearly the fault of the restaurant and over looked because the manager was too busy to get as much service to his business due to the holiday traffic. I am sharing this experience because I have been a LOYAL visitor to this business but after May 5, 2018 I can strongly say that I will not only never visit the company again but will share my experience with anyone that is considering this a...
Read moreGreat Food, But Poor Management Experience
First and foremost, Chimi’s in Bridgeton is a great place to eat! The food and drinks are always amazing, and my family and I have been loyal customers for a long time. We come almost every Tuesday and always get the same server—it truly feels like a family atmosphere.
However, this review is specifically about the two managers working tonight (Friday, 3/14/2025), Linda and Maria.
Tonight, I ordered a gallon of margarita to go, and Linda’s initial response was, “Well, you know it’s like $80,” in a tone that felt dismissive and condescending, as if I couldn’t afford it. I never even asked for the price—I simply placed my order—so her response came off as unnecessary and rude.
Then, I was refused service for not having my physical ID. I understand the importance of following rules, but what made this frustrating was the inconsistency. My family and I come here regularly, and we have never once been ID’d when ordering drinks—including the last time I ordered a margarita to go, which Linda herself served me without asking for an ID. This kind of selective enforcement is what makes the experience frustrating.
To make matters worse, when I simply asked for the contact information of a general manager or higher-up, both Linda and Maria refused to provide a name other than their own. I wasn’t trying to argue or question the policy further—I just wanted clarification on the standard operating procedure. Their dismissive attitude and lack of professionalism were disappointing, especially considering how much my family and I consistently spend and tip at this restaurant.
Again, Chimi’s is a great place—the food, drinks, and regular servers make it worth coming back. But tonight’s experience with management was irritating and disappointing. If policies are going to be enforced, they should be enforced consistently—not only when it’s convenient for...

Rude server
October 2024
I came for a margarita and to order food to go. The waiter was rude and never came to see if I needed anything. He did see that my drink was half full and brought the check as if it say "you can leave." Maybe he was having a bad day but as a former server and manager in the industry I would never just shove a bill at someone who wasn't even finished. I left him 1 cent tip to let him know that I didn't intentionally forget the tip! He put his name as sever B. On top of that he tried to charge me extra tax. The food here is excellent but rudeness and this kind of behavior is not acceptable!
