I rarely write bad restaurant reviews, but I went to the Bridgewater, NJ Cheesecake Factory and except for the chicken samosas, it was HORRIBLE! There was no wait to be seated and now I know why. We ordered appetizers for the group and one person asked for bread. Samosas and fried mac and cheese arrived but we had no silverware. Samosas were good but the fried mac and cheese was barely warm. A group member again asked for bread. We ordered entrees and waited . . . and waited . . . and waited. I ordered the Bang-Bang Shrimp and another person ordered the Bang-Bang Chicken. When it arrived, I took the first bite and notice that there was something sweet and mushy in my mouth! I looked down on my plate and saw that there are mushy, lumpy mounds in my food that might be pineapple. We have been coming to this location since it opened and I have ordered this dish many, many times and I have even made it at home. There are no pineapples in Bang-Bang Shrimp, so I was concerned and repulsed, especially since I am allergic to pineapple, and I did not know if this was pineapple! I pushed a few of the unidentifiable lumps to the side of my plate. When the server returned, I informed her that there was something that looked like pineapples in my food and that I am allergic to them. She apologized and said that she would bring me a fresh meal. The manager, Rachel, arrives a short time later. During Rachel's pseudo apology, she informs me that what I saw was not pineapple, but apple. According to Rachel, the dish had, and I quote, "an apple crumb base". I enjoy cooking & baking and this dish is not a dessert, so I was now more unnerved and disgusted. Another member of our group had the same dish with chicken, and no shrimp, and there was not one lumpy apple-ish blob on her plate! I inform the manager that I have had this dish many times, and never had there been anything resembling a lumpy apple or pineapple in it. I asked her for the menu to read the description to make sure that I was not losing my mind. She returned with the menu and there was no mention of an apple of any kind in the dish. She asked if I would like another dish, but unfortunately, by this time, I was feeling physically nauseous since I did not know what I had eaten, and it was very apparent that Rachel did not know either! YUCK! She left again and this time returned to tell me that she checked with the kitchen and the dish has "pureed apples" in it. At this point, I was sick and annoyed. Forget an apology, just please stop trying to justify the mistake. As the saying goes, don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining! Apparently, Rachel still did not understand that CHUNKS of squishy "apples" or whatever it was, should not be in this dish! When asked to please not make excuses, she sarcastically responded, "excuse me for trying to make you happy". Apparently, her prior misinformation was designed only to appease me. She was told that we had never had such a horrendous experience there before. The group stopped eating, I paid the bill after it was adjusted to remove my "dish" and we left. I threw up on the way home, took a Benadryl, and sat down to write this review. I also looked up Bang-Bank Chicken and Shrimp on the Cheesecake Factory website and it appears below. Let me know if you see any mention of a pineapple or apple-ish ingredient in the description. Needless to say, I am still feeling sick.

Read moreDated for 2/5/2023, but review was deleted I went there Sunday evening with a party of five. We were looking forward to going to the Cheesecake Factory, especially since we haven’t been there in a while. We wanted to go so badly that we bought each other CC Factory gift cards this past Christmas. Unfortunately, our experience wasn’t the way we envisioned. Female server was nice, but our orders weren’t coming out within a timely manner and that they didn’t turn out right. One of the food runners brought the wrong food to our table, but left one plate behind. Our table wasn’t happy with this, because one of us didn’t feel comfortable eating her food while the rest of us were still waiting on orders. She was disappointed that her food was going to be cold by the time everyone got theirs. 40 minutes later, food shows up. The first order had mayonnaise, which the customer had requested not to have. Second order was supposed to be steak and shrimp jambalaya pasta, but the order had chicken and shrimp instead. When food was returned to the kitchen, not only was there a $10 surcharge and an additional 20 minute wait, there were only four small chucks of steak with shrimp. Chicken was taken out. Since the plate of pizza was cold, we addressed it with our server. She brought another pizza to accommodate for the inconvenience and delay. As a group, we noticed that the first plate of pizza was undercooked and still doughy. The second plate was cooked to perfection. We each had some to try. All in all, the food we had at this establishment was delicious. The other ones we ordered were truffle honey chicken and mashed potatoes, which were tasty. The layout of the restaurant was spacious, open, and clean. To whomever manages this restaurant, please address with your staff and kitchen crew regarding wait time for customers’ orders and the trivial mistakes imposed upon requests. It’s disappointing to have to write this review, because I enjoy writing 5-star reviews on local businesses. Most of my reviews are such. I want to see places thrive, so to not experience that tonight with our family was disheartening. We do wish you the best of luck in your establishment, but we don’t think we’ll be returning...
Read moreTo wrap-up a visit of friends from out of state, we decided to go out after dinner last Wednesday July 30th, for dessert at The Cheesecake Factory in Bridgewater. This review is about the poor service we experienced.
We were seated by 9:30pm. A waiter named Johnny, came to take our drink orders and asked if we’d like bread to start our meal. I let him know we were there for dessert and he said he’d give us time to look at the dessert menu. After taking our orders, Johnny returned about 10 minutes later to say the kitchen was out of my initial tiramisu selection, so I switched to the tiramisu cheesecake. He returned again after ~10 minutes to say my 2nd selection was also not available. He also told my friend her selection of the lemon raspberry cream cheesecake, was frozen. He did not mention any issue with her husband’s selection of the mango key lime cheesecake.
At that point, given the time wasted in trying to place our orders, I asked Johnny when the restaurant closed and he said 10 o’clock. Since it was about 5 minutes to closing, we decided to go to the entrance display counter and order desserts to go. We were very surprised to see the options Johnny had told us were not available, in the display counter.
What really confounded us about our interaction with Johnny, was how he returned 2 separate times to tell us a particular selection wasn’t available. A reasonably trained waiter would have verified that the other 2 options were available before returning to our table; or better yet, returned with a confirmed list of available options.
It’s unclear why Johnny behaved that way. We knew it wasn’t too late to order desserts, because he was prepared to take dinner orders when we arrived. It was possible he didn’t think it was worth his time to wait on customers ordering only three desserts, because that’s the impression he gave with his delay tactics and unhelpful attitude. A very disappointing experience. But eating our takeout cheesecakes at home, more than...
