Leo's Coney Island — Restaurant in Brighton

I want to first off start that this is not typical of this place in my experience but tonight I had pretty bad service and felt the need to share. My server took my order and when brought to the table had gave me a western omelet instead of Mexican that I ordered… ok mistakes happen but then one of the worst thing a server can ever do… “are you sure that’s what you ordered?” Are you serious?? Yes I’m sure that’s what I ordered my order is the EXACT same every time I go in. Also how do you mistake western for Mexican?!? They don’t even sound the same… but ok you have a chance to even redeem yourself when bring back the correct item… instead it’s thrown on the table with “here’s that for you” as continues walking away. Now I’m annoyed but I’m still going to keep giving a chance for an apology or at this point anything… never happened. Even when brought the bill they dropped on table and walked away… then came back to just tell me they know it says western on the receipt but it’s the same price anyways and even at that perfect opportunity to apologize they still didn’t for their mistake so I did something I almost never do as you really have to mess up for me to do this but yeah I didn’t leave a tip. I’m sure they will think oh what a jerk not leaving a tip… but I was willing to let go all of the bad service but couldn’t even get a single apology and instead started out with basically accusing me of ordering the wrong item. I don’t know the servers name..: it was Leah I believe in the receipt but that doesn’t always mean they are the person serving you. This all doesn’t even go with I also never was asked if everything was ok afterwards besides not given the apology and also never even offered to refill my drink either. Was absolutely pathetic. Before anyone wonders that may read this I also was one of only 2 tables when I entered and only 4 tables of people in the whole place counting me when I left so it also wasn’t because they were busy not that would be an excuse anyhow.

Now on the other hand there is (or was) a server named Mikayla that works there who was amazing every time I had her and even once earned herself a $30 tip on a bill that was under $30… why because had a personality and also did a good job… so not as if I’m someone who doesn’t tip either as I am someone who works on tips too so again you have to be pretty awful to not get a tip from Me and this is an instance where it applies. Hopefully someone sees this and maybe can let them know to be better… or find the Mikayla and ask her how to do a good job because again she was amazing EVERY TIME.

The food is always good too… I mean it’s not chef quality but it’s definitely better quality than the prices you pay which is a reason not for a full on 1 star review but the service deserves negative stars for...

I intentionally did not take a photograph of the food today because if you go to a Coney in Island in The food looks the same. What makes us unique experience today is that the food is very very fresh the van and a hotdog a stretch the chili dogs pant in the French writer hot and it just makes it a real pleasurable meal so I got the Coney combo today. I’m very happy so do yourself a favor and if you’re hungry for lunch, come on down here for a great meal.

Our server Carrie, is gotta do is an exceptional waitress. She’s very humorous. She does a great job with her customers, and she puts up with the customer like me.

July 21 update

I usually only eat two coneys but I ordered a third. They were served so perfectly HOT and delicious with a wonderful plate of fries and iced tea, I was in heaven. This is a great place to dine! Cherish was a GREAT waitress, I appreciate her kindness and genuine smile.

I want to recognize the Busboy, Faduel. Watching him working around the tables, removing the dishes, cleaning off the tables and preparing for the next customer, I noticed that the busboy along with the others that I’ve seen at this restaurant do an outstanding incredible job, and I want to recognize him for his great work. People recognize cooks and waitresses all the time and I really wanna point out that his cooks and waitresses also deserve high praise for their hard work but for the people behind the scenes and never really get recognized that’s why am making a statement at this time Fadeul, you are one fantastic, hard-working, young man. Thank you.

November 15, 2023 update! I want to make a quick note before the food gets cold, but every time that I’ve come to this particular Leo’s the Coney dogs are served piping hot. They are absolutely delicious almost burning your mouth. I love the Coney dog served here you can’t go wrong eating here.

update Kelly is a fantastic waitress that helped us with our meal today. Today is October 11, 2025. How hard is the best bus boy that he really should be called a bus man he is exceptional cleaning table and helping with the waiters and weight for the waitresses. Make sure the tables are taken care of of a customer come in and make sure that company is aware of of staff to take care of those person heat in one outstanding member of this staff, and that just shows you how exceptional the entire...

I have been going to this location for a couple years now and have always enjoyed the people and the food.

However my last two times have made me think that I may not go back. Last week I went in at 8pm for dinner, I know they close at 9pm, I am a slow eaters so I was trying to hurry, at about 8:45 the (I think she was the manager came by my table and told me I had to hurry up as they closed at 9.

Tonight. Went in at 7:30 so I would have plenty of time. But as soon as I placed my order they said they were closing as the A/C was not working. I understand why they wanted to close early, but hen this same manager from last week came to my table and said I needed to hurry up as they were closing early. I said I was paying for my meal and did not appreciate being rushed! She then told me the Air was not working and they wanted to leave because they also had a long drive home. (I am not sure how it’s my fault that they live a long ways away?). But I finished my meal and left and truthfully, I am not sure if I will...
